Well apparently I should have run faster I was not running 100 percent on the motor, I found an oil leak Sunday night I figured it was slow topped it off and I believe I almost seized the motor today. At least with the hesitation I was getting the check engine light and low oil is leaving me to assume that's the case. I need to get my hands on a scan gauge or some other gadget to check what the engine code is. :-o

So if anybody is experienced with doing the timing belt change and changing all the seals on the front of the motor I would appreciate the help as I really can't afford to pay the dealer to.

Ed's offer is worth $450 that it cost me to have a new timing belt/water pump put on my 99 Miata at Mariner Auto on Mariner Blvd. Decent guys run that place if you get desparate. The only trick I remember is that it's easy to miss one tooth on one of the cams on reassembly (my car was out of time for 60k miles due to that via previous owner who was an airplane mechanic..hmmmm). The serpentine belt costs alot more than the timing belt.

I put an ebay setup in my '99 cause I was broke at the time. It came with belt, gaskets , tension wheely things, and water pump for like $90. I guess it held up for a while, however I think Gerry just replaced something in there.

I think I had to get the cam seals also from the parts store down the street. But that FM kit includes those, but not the water pump.

Matt, I recently did all of the above again with the help of Ron and Mark. What Ed is referring to us that my water pump bearing was wearing out. I'd be happy to help, although I've only done it once. Mark has some special tools that makes the job easy. I'll PM you with some help on parts selection :)
