grind grind grind weld weld weld sand sand sand -- arrrrgh will it ever end?

Ford used some off the shelf parts for the mustang as witnessed here. Under the dash pad was a formed metal bracket welded to a Falcon dash. I like the look of the plain dash so off it all went. Little metal work and bondo and ohhhh so nice.

Legend or myth? On the early '65 (64-1/2) mustangs it was rumored that you could remove the center cap off the steering wheel and find the Falcon badge.

One of the stable mates got new paint. So silver-y. Check the size of those brake drums.

Looks like you're making some progress.

I never heard of anyone finding a Falcon emblem on a early Mustang but I wouldn't doubt it happened. You can find a lot of Ford Futura parts on the Fox Body Mustangs.

Nice looking barn mate with the "GTO", though I don't think it's a real GTO because those cars came with front disc brakes and rear drum set ups. Oh wait, if that's a 1968 GTO then they did come with front drum brakes, that was the last year for front drums on any "A-body" muscle car. Can't imagine trying to stop a 3600 pound car with that much power with drum brakes. :o

Those cars were soooo simple to work on...I miss therm a lot! You could actually do fabricating and welding and worry less about all the electronic BS. Look at the engine compartment in the white car vs the Cobra...no comparison.
