I understand. I'm just saying that there is no correlation. Each car is classed on its own.

We didn't even know this car existed until one registered and you hinted that it was different from previous Z28's. Those in the know (Doug?) should keep us posted. :)

In my head, words like Z28, Camaro, Firebird, Mustang, Capri and Charger all mean exactly the same thing. Unless someone points out a significant difference, they're all "F Stock" or "S3" cars.

Is there anyway to edit my entry number on MyMotorsports, I looked and didn't see any edit options ? I've been trying to change my number because I lost a couple numbers last week when the car broke down in Tampa, they must have fallen out of the car.

If you do it before Registration closes, you can go to your Dashboard, then the Event Dashboard for the event you want to change, then Update/Change Registration. It's all right there.

Loren wrote:Well, as of right now, our class list doesn't call it out as a special model. But, I just did a quick look and the 2014 Z28 is a pretty special car. (no radio, no AC, no trunk carpet, etc, etc) SCCA has classed it in AS rather than FS. That is significant.

This has nothing to do with the name being Z28. Pretty much every other Z28 has been a street package. This one is clearly not. And it has nothing to do with comparisons to various Mustang packages. This Z28 is what it is, and we weigh what SCCA does with classing, especially when they're bumping a car UP in class.

I'll talk it over with Steve.
http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro-z28-tra ... trims.html

It's my understanding this car is put with the ZL1 in A Street by SCCA (there was a misprint in FASTrac earlier). It was track tested faster than the new Stingray....ouch. I saw one in the showroom and it's definitely totally factory track ready at a cost of $78k which is $6k more than a well optioned Stingray sitting next to it. It even comes with an adjustable front wing/cone diverter and everything mechanical is cooled for the track.

So I would guess it goes into S1 assuming it has 140 tires on it. It's brake package will buckle concrete. It's power and torque are probably unusable in autocross without the computers so it will be fun to watch.

Ooops. Pirelli Trofeo's are 60 rated so off to R it goes with factory tires http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp ... o+Trofeo+R

The 1LE stays in F Street = S3 so no rest for the weary with his new tires.

You've spent the past year with your head under a rock? :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg1fY1fVYNk

This Z/28 is not 1985 Z/28. With 505hp 427ci motor, magic shocks, and r comp tires as delivered, this thing is the real deal. Never in my life would I have dreamed I would see Motor Trend pick a Camaro over a 911 and an Alpha for "Best Driver's Car", but that just happened.

Later in 2015 Ford's answer to Z28 = GT350-R will also probably be in S1 with Z28 if they can find 140 tires to fit those new Carbon Fiber rims?

Where will it all end? GT(40) is coming back with 600HP and automatic trans in the future too.

See yall Saturday with my answer to the S1 dilema = hire a Vette.

You know we're bound to have a cold event sometime this winter.

But this one ain't it!

Partly cloudy, light breezes and 69 degrees. Hell, yes! :bouncy:

Over 100 entries...should be interesting for sure!

Z/28 is an awesome car for sure! I've been tempted MANY times to trade in my 1LE for one. If i can beat it in my 1LE I'll be a happy camper :)

It's a bunch of people, for sure! But, split into two sessions, it won't be bad at all. 48 drivers in the morning, 54 drivers in the afternoon. Should go pretty smoothly.

You can't beat the car. You might beat the driver, though. :thumbwink:

Just buy the wheels and tires and you'd have a good shot at beating anyone while remaining in S3. **Both the front and rear brakes are bigger than the wheels on my old Stang :rolling:

WHEELS & TIRES Z28

I notice the Z28 is in S1. Does that mean it's not running on the Pirellis? Doug was right. Those things are 60 treadwear....

You're asking questions we won't know the answer to until the car shows up.

If there's a problem, we'll deal with it.

It doesn't sound like there will be any shortage of people checking this car out!

I'm asking the guy for a long term loan :snicker: One that outlasts me :snicker:

He obviously has more money than God. God doesn't use money since he has good credit. Therefore God is broke just like me. A thousandaire. Just like Tony :binky:

I signed up for morning tech but I haven't heard anything. So I guess that means I have been assigned else where? Just want to make sure I show up on time.

Alex, you didn't "sign up" for tech, you "requested" tech. There is a difference.

Anyone who gets a work assignment that requires them to arrive early will get an email to request confirmation of that assignment so that we know you're aware of it. You know that!

With all of the novices and first-timers at this event, I needed all of the experienced people I could find to fill "skilled" worker positions, be corner captains, and be instructors. You, my friend, are instructing in the 1st run group.

Me? You want these novices to actually learn something, right? I'm perennially stuck in mediocre thanks to 1LE, Nathan and Shelby Mike.

"Sign up for" implies that you get what you asked for just by "signing up for it". A request is just a request, you may not get it. With an event this size, you probably won't.

All you have to do is keep the first-timers on course, out of the weeds, and make sure they're having fun and not getting frustrated. You can handle it!
