I vote to keep the F in FAST! Give the driver a re-run but don't score it.

That's "F in FAST" fun for the driver, but not really for the courseworkers.
Practice runs during a competition sounds odd.
Why don't we carry over cone penalties to the red flag re-run?

a) Because that's the way it's always been done. (even the SCCA rule book does it that way)
b) Because there is no automated way to do it. (Timing crew would have to write down the number of cones and remember to apply it to the rerun)
But, really... let's not go there just yet.
All we're trying to do with this poll is answer the question "should there be a rerun?" and the sub-question "do we even care enough to bother writing a rule about it?"

Did Loren just agree with a rule in the SCCA rulebook?
Between 2 opinions that result in a DNF, that's 60% of the vote. I think's it's enough to go forward with a DNF being DNF.

I agree with a lot of the SCCA rule book.

Okay, let's wrap this up.
35 members voted in this poll, and the results were pretty clear:
- 68% felt that no rerun was warranted for a driver that was red-flagged after a DNF.
- 37% felt that one way or another there should be a rule about it.
So, we're going to state a rule just for clarity. And that rule is based on the majority opinion.
We've added that rule to our very short list of basic rules:

Thanks for taking the time to share your opinions on this matter.
