A registration notice for the February event was never posted on the home page of Fast.com. I don't always have time to read through the forum, and usually just look for the notice on the home page for registration. Luckily I read the forum late last night and saw people talking about registration, which is the only reason we (John and I) were able to register in time. (Thanks meaty for putting the link within the forum!)

So, the lesson is either for: Myself (and everyone else) to make sure we look through the forum. Or: Site admins to be consistent in putting important notices for us on the main page of Fast.com. Either way, I learned my lesson.. :?

I know of at least one school volunteer who was supposed to have Feb. as his 2nd free event, and his name is not on the entry list. I know he planned on attending..

Oh yeah, and while I'm at it, please pick up some Dr. Pepper to add to the coolers if you can. Someone mentioned it earlier, and I just wanted to 2nd that request. :D

AND.. Thanks for having the school. It was a blast and I hope I will learn to "look ahead!"

I learned my lesson at the December event when I had to wait for other people to be dropped from the list before I could snatch an entry. You gotta be johnny-on-the-spot to get into these FAST events! As soon as I saw Steve's notice on tamparacing, I clicked in!

Holy jeeze, it certainly did fill up fast.

Well, who's going to take timing, then?

yeah, if it's going to fill up that fast, I think they need to look into the rent-a-cop option.

We have a few options. We could do the rent a cop if it isn't too expensive. We can have more drivers and less guests (that would be my vote). If we have too many drivers it will be difficult to maintain our 8 runs which I think is important. I had suggested at the beginning of the year offering a yearly registration, pre paid. I would do this. That way you don't have to worry about making the deadline. Since we are doing pre pay at Brookesville with no refunds, it would only have an effect on the SPC events. As a bonus, we wouldn't charge the yearly people extra for any events like the two day or gymkhana or other higher priced events.

Wow this event filled up "FAST" :? Maybe we need to make some sort of "waiting list" if someone drops out? I have a friend that wanted to go but he was too late. :(

I say add 10 more driver spots instead of guest spots. I like guests and all but 60 drivers vs 50 (especially since a few will cancel anyways) is a good thing IMO.

I'm with Dave. Take the majority (3/4?) of the unused guest spots and let more drivers sign up.

Since driver registration is full then it is impossible for more guests to be registered via myautoevents now, anyway.

Less guests, more drivers is good.

I also like Howard's idea........

Kenny do you mind if you and matt both do timing. One of you could do timing while the other is driving.

Yes, more drivers and less guests.
Has anyone thought about recruiting an off-duty cop so that they could get free registration if they appeared at our Brooksville event? As security, would the airport still let them drive at the event? It might be worth checking..........?

More drivers, less guests...more drivers, less guests!

BTW, Loren is working with me (rather, continue training me) on safety steward. So far, it looks like I missed out for this event, but I can do the necessary course reviews before the event. It looks like Loren didn't sign up either so I suppose a veteran should do safety at the event.

FWIW, I assumed that those who worked the school (technical assistants) would automatically get to use their last credit for Feb -- similar to the way we used our first credit for January. I didn't actually sign up for the Jan event, rather it was confirmed that I planned on attending. The students and workers had first dibs before it was opened to everyone else. At any rate, can this second credit be transferred to a future event for those who worked the school?

If you guys would like me to, I can talk to my brother about security.

He's a security guard (licensed and everything with the state, as per his companys guidelines), and I'm sure if we bribe him enough, he'd be happy to come up to Brooksville with us to hang out for the day. I'll have him wear his uniform and everything :p

Let me know if we need a Cop, or a "rent-a-cop"

I would imagine that any "security guard" would have to be approved by the TSA. :?

And yes, more drivers less guests = good idea.

Aaron I can't speak for "FAST" but I'm sure that your "credit" can be used for another event. :)
