Actually, we don't. SCCA requires a dedicated safety steward with no other tasking at all times...our insurance doesn't drive us to that.
Also Jamie, if you can spare a couple corner workers, I would like to add a dedicated novice instructor for each heat. One of them should also coordinate a novice walkthrough at 9:30AM before the drivers meeting.
I'll see what I can figure out.
BTW...while everyone wants to get their work assignment out of the way somewhere besides during the event, it's just not possible. We can't dedicate four people each to setup and teardown, so a couple of you who volunteered for those assignments will end up with regular run group assignments. That doesn't mean we can't use extra help before and after, but we already seem to have enough trouble getting a full crew man stations during the day. There are plenty of people chipping in and doing two or three jobs over the course of an event...join that elite group!
To be honest, at brooksville there's not even a need for a "tear down" group. The last group of workers ALWAYS makes piles of cones then someone with a truck goes and gets them, it's a wasted spot for brooksville IMO. It makes sense for SPC because of the police course though.

I'll be there all day (no leaving early for me), I'll be doing registration and can help out wherever.
Jamie, the only request I have is that my friend Steve W, #310 have a work assignment that doesn't require him to run. If he could work start, grid, writing times, that would be good. Or I can work with him shagging cones and he can do the radio. Thanks.

Can I beg somebody for a ride to Brooksville Saturday and Sunday? Howard? Ron? Brian maybe since he lives in St. Pete and I might be somewhat on his way North? I'll have the timing gear, so probably not Steve.
I'm obviously car-less for now and I haven't found a temporary car to drive around yet. I live close to 66th and Ulmerton if that helps

Brian - Muddy: moved.
Brian - 90SolarGT/03Si: in St. Pete.
Kenny, you'd be amazed how much stuff will fit in a Miata. If you can't find a bigger ride, lemme know and we'll make it work. But be warned, I'm doing registration both days [whispers from behind own hand]that means early[/whisper]

Normally we're pretty soft on credit for cancellations, we know things do come up. But, we've had to tighten up in order to meet new rules the Brooksville powers-that-be recently changed. We're really sorry, but we can offer no refund/credit if it's after the registration deadline (this is stated on the MAE page for the event). But, please don't let this discourage you from registering for another event with us.

Don't see a problem -- we always try to work around bad legs and backs...but why is this
your request?

I'd probably be amazed, but I have the display to bring, the timing box (the black one) and the 3 timing cables, myself, my helmet, the laptop, and my numbers. The early thing doesn't bother me all that much.

i didn't realize you had the display, too...I still say in a pinch we could do it, but probably best to see what else you can work out. Lemme know...

Kenny, if nothing else works out you can crash at my house and ride up in the trailer. Um, I mean in the truck pulling the trailer.
However again that means early and also that you'd have to find another way home! Unless I'm really needed for some duty I'll just drop off the trailer then turn around for Clearwater.

Jamie, I'm asking because, one, my friend doesn't know who to ask, and isn't really into message boards, plus he's the type of person that doesn't want to be a problem or complain.
Kenny, I'm also working registration both days, so I'd have to be at your house by 6:15am. If you want I can get the timing equip from you Friday on my way back from making the trailer list, that way you could ride with whoever you want.

Hey Kenny, I don't think I've met you but I'm also in Largo. On Saturday I'll be in the Burban on the way home, so there is MORE than enough room for you if you want to jump in for the ride on the way back, or the way up. Let me know. I'm right behind Largo High School.

This really sucks.. when I registered for the even last month I never put the name of the guest who would be with me! I can't figure out how to edit it now and I suppose it's too late to do something like that anyways.
Can my guest still come with me? Is there ANY possible way (such as supplying me with a name on the list who we know is not coming ) to grant my guest entrance to the site?
I've never been to a brooksville auto-x before.. how strict are they at the gate? Please guys help me out if you can..

Strict, sorry but if they weren't on the list prior to registration closing there is nothing we can do to let them on the site.

True. We're strict because the airport is strict. Very sorry, but your guest will have to wait 'til next time.
