Seems like you got it as right as you need to get it. It’s another way to have “bragging rights “ and aligns Fast with other clubs that use it. (If you are only a Fast participant and don’t care for it, then don’t bother with it)

And I went ahead and applied it to all 5 events from this season. This is still a test. But, given that it's "just PAX" and nothing is on the line here... unless y'all balk, I might just leave it as-is and run with it. It was pretty easy to set up in AXware, and it's just one more results report to save at the end of each event. No biggie.

Biggest change in the two systems seems to be Ken. From 27th to 8th. That seems more accurate to me and it makes a lot of sense when comparing the event's two sets of results side by side. I think that was a good call.

Yeah, as long as nobody shows up in a legit Mod car and drives it well. That would blow it out of the water.

I recently did some research on AM cars, with all this discussion and whatnot. Holy crap. Didn't know that was a thing.

If this guy showed up our PAX might fail a little bit. Even the SCCA's PAX had to be adjusted ( again ) for AMod.

To put in perspective, Ken ran a 55.955 on one of the courses at the SCCA solo nats. He ran a 43.973.

After giving the pax stuff some thought, I have a question. Do you think S2 has an advantage because we are only made up of one class and don't have to worry about an average? Or on the opposite side of the spectrum, do well prepped cars of the higher scca class have an advantage because the average is brought down by a lower class? I would think they just both have an advantage, just have to see which one is worth more. Should be interesting to watch as we get more events.

The person that might have a slight "advantage" would be the person who is in a combined class, and their car is in the "higher" of the combined classes. Averaging will bring their index down a bit. (but, no more than about .004)

Likewise, the person that might have a slight "disadvantage would be the person in a combined class, and their car is the "lower" of the combined classes. Averaging will bump their index up a bit.

If you're in S2 where there is no averaging, then you'd have an even slighter advantage or disadvantage depending on which of the people above you're comparing to.

.004 x 45 seconds = 0.18 seconds.

I think we're close enough that the better drivers are going to float to the top.

Lol. Pimp shocks are like 6k MCS shocks on a 20K car. (It happens in scca stock classes all the time )

Nothing new. The norm was $600 tires and $2000 shocks in stock classes... 20 years ago. But, there were always people who pulled it off without the big budget. (except for tires) And there always will be.

Wait, everyone isn't fully built to class? I was just about to grab some TE-37 Volks, custom Penske shocks, and a header for my NA. Glad you guys mentioned this.

I think we only have a dozen or so cars that could actually be called "prepped" for a class. I think that could be said for most clubs.

Ya I literally have been running it right off the showroom floor. (Minus the wheels and tires ). Need to install this sway bar and try to get more camber before next season (scca season)

Late to the party here, but I like the idea of showing the PAX results. As you mentioned, 95% of our regulars don't have a car fully prepped for their SCCA class but this also means 95% of them are between 50-75% prepped depending mostly on tires so I think in the end it's a fair comparison for most.
