I vote for dropping 3.
I'm sure I'm like others when we can't attend all events. Those that do are more fortunate...more seat time and autocross thrills compared to those that don't.
Besides my previous club experiences only had 8 events (midwest) so...and I don't recall them dropping events (, but then again may have.)

Something to consider, the more you drop, the more you affect class races that have several regular attendees. You start taking points away from multiple people. Say you have 3 people that all missed one event. If points are close then those drops start benefitting those that had bad day and may take away important points to someone that was more consistent. Maybe one never finished lower than second, they lose 6 points and someone else might only lose 3. That could affect a tight points race and it shouldn't. I'm all for 1 or maybe 2, but I think 3 is too many.

I agree Drew, and thats what I've been trying to say all along, and we can do the math for the next 50 years and someone still won't be happy. I think if I'd suggested that we drop 3 events everyone else would be clammering for 1 or 2 events, it's the nature of any type club where you can get multiple input, which is good. It seems a lot of people have an opinion about something, but a lot (not all, you know who you areAScoda wrote:Something to consider, the more you drop, the more you affect class races that have several regular attendees. Re: May 17th - SPC/topic split - points discussion
According to this years results, there are no changes at 1 drop, 1 tie is created at 2 drops (Loren and Ron), and a lead change at 3 drops (Loren and Ron).
With 3 drops the margin of victory was dropped 50% or more in all but one class.
The more drops you have, the tighter the races become overall and the better driver is rewarded in the end.

And I want to see the better driver, not the lucky driver, rewarded!Jeremy17 wrote:The more drops you have, the tighter the races become overall and the better driver is rewarded in the end.
The Jag complains about autoX by throwing Gearbox Faults.
I think it is just lazy.

The point drop issue was discussed and voted on at the recent membership meeting. The vote was to leave it at one drop score.
