I can tech if we still need somebody. I have done it before and Liz and I are bringing separate cars so I can get there early.

As far as guests go, do we have to go back to autoevents.com and modify our entries to bring two guests (one each), if we open up more spots for guests?

instead of a course map can we have someone just describe in detail what the course looks like.

$#%! The event is full!
I can't believe I haven't thought about it until today. Too much Gran Turismo 5. Not enough real driving.
If a spot opens, please send me a PM. I will regularly check MAE.
Thank you!

Hey, Steve... could we perhaps humbly request that they raise our "no security required" limit from 75 to... 100? That would allow us to squeak in a few more drivers when we want to, like we do at SPC.

We're in good shape except for teardown...will just have to recruit kind-hearted souls to stay after and help clean up.

Usually, yes, or send a note to the info mailbox, but a moot point for this one: we're full, and already more drivers watching the list for cancellations.

Nah, they're just testing completely stock cars... which includes the tires. When they test a Yaris, they're testing it with either the base 175/70-14 tires (can you imagine???) or the optional 185/65-15 tires. In either case, they're all-season tires designed for long life and fuel economy above all else. Is it any wonder they only generate .75 G on a skidpad?
Simply bolt on a set of 195/55-15 Star Specs and you'll see .88-.90 G pretty easily. Fix the alignment and .92-.95 should be possible. Add a big rear swaybar and you'll see at least .97!
Knowing how to set up a car is important.

Event chairman was MIA over the holidays. He's supposed to be working on a second draft of his course. Hopefully, he'll show up soon with that.
Meanwhile, you'll just have to imagine what a course at Brooksville might be like.

Yes, I am still alive and kickin'. I do appoligize for the course map not being up yet. I was trying to get it done before the holidays because I knew they were going to be a distraction. Obvioulsy that didn't happen.
I thought about posting the first draft but decided against it. I will work on getting it up in the next day or two.
It looks like most of the jobs are filling up but we still need someone on supplies. Any volunteers?

Vivid description of course layout:
Go really fast, then turn left, right, left, right, left, right, etc.... there will be some braking, and you should probably shift gears at some point. Then, stop.
Revel in your accomplishments.

You forgot the excuses. Must prepare excuses before reaching the start line so that they are ready at the finish.

Never post drafts. Never apologize for not posting the map. As long as there's an approved map by event day, we're all happy.

Part of pre-event preparation, just like checking the oil and making sure the battery's tied down....

I found my excuse. While putting in shiny new bushings in the front I realized my lower rears are gone. My mushy rear will no long match my mushy front

That gives you more rear compliance for better grip under acceleration. That's no excuse, that's an advantage!
