I see what you did there.
I'm not buying it. But, I see it.

"A bunch of people in production class are already running aftermarket springs, so I would just like to get the "Okay" that what they are doing is legal."
I prefer to call them "stock replacement springs", thank you
About class "B" back in the day that was the way you auto crossed, it seems like no one does that anymore (production car, with race tires) now it seems that I'm the only one in it, maybe it should be put on some type of probation due to lack of cars, bumping the car up the modified race tire class would be expensive, dropping to the production street tire is doable.
Thoughts?

We only have two "production race tire" classes. Even though they are poorly subscribed most of the time, I don't think it's fair to do away with them or combine them. (combining them would put cars like stock Corvettes in the same class as stock Miatas!) If you decide that you want competition, you simply need to move to a class where there are more cars. You can run in the "mod race tire" class, or you can put on street tires and run in "F".
The reason most of our regulars don't bother with expensive race tires is that we have created a class structure that doesn't REQUIRE them for a driver to be competitive. The reason everyone had them back in the day was that SCCA classing allowed "DOT approved" race tires in EVERY class, which meant that they were required if you wanted to be competitive. Even SCCA has been trying to move away from that model. Street tires have also gotten WAY better.

Missed this thread and finally got caught up....... I have nothing to add except the fact I plan on running the 240 with:
-4 camber, 35psi of boost with a standalone Haltech in Class J if that is ok?

I wouldn't get too cocky. Things change.
Tampa SCCA 2002
75, 87, 80, 57, 66, 145, 92...
Just a few years ago I suggested some ways to improve attendance in the orlando area and they laughed at me and said "that's a Tampa problem our attendance is fine on the east coast". Now the whole region is hurting.
I know it's not an apples to apples comparison, but it still makes me cringe when I hear anyone say they are fine with the status quo. Please don't take this the wrong way, just trying to make sure history doesn't repeat itself.

I'm not counting chickens before they hatch.
And you're absolutely right, and I'm all for making adjustments when needed (as we have in the past).
When needed...

Cocky is making your entry fee for non-members $45 when other clubs are at $30-35, NOT including lunch, and expecting a lot of people to show up at your events.
But, I get what you're saying, Jeremy. We do strive to constantly watch the "quality" of our events and not become complacent.

I might just do that, looking at the times it seems the car would be competitive, I think it would be class "G" though for a v6 mustang. maybe I'll try that one. Thanks Rob
