FASTiva 2.0[/quote]

To an unknowing observer they might think the red Fastiva is the parts car for the kaabluey which looks rather straight and shiny from this angle.

We just bought a parts car for the FASTiva. It is a running and driving car, I drove it home from Sarasota. Be very, VERY thankful that we're not sadistic enough to do the FROC in this car! Dead shocks and struts all around, but the right front is so bad that it has a hair trigger. The car will drive straight and be okay until you hit a little bump, or initiate a left curve, or the wind changes direction... then it COLLAPSES instantly and the car pulls violently to the left. Every shift was an adventure! Driving over 45 was terrifying!

No. You won't be competing in that. You're welcome. (although it would be freakin' hilarious to watch!)
But shouldn't the regular drivers of FASTiva compete in that one instead? That would be evil haha

Not sure that a free dinner would be considered a peril.

12 days left to register. Lots of open spots to run the Classic. Only 5 spots open to run the FROC.

randalllindner wrote:I need a sponsor for the Dec 17th event. I have attended 3 auto cross events since September. My biggest problem is that I work in Costa Rica and my time in my home
in Bradenton Florida is limited and does not allow me to run as often as I
would like.

In my younger years (from age 15 to 25) I had a lot of experience in
competitive driving. I was sponsored by Frontier Ford in Oval dirt
track stock cars and B fueled Drag racing.

The only reason I have stated the above is because I have only been
able to attend 3 autocross events with my first being in September in
Orlando and in short, I would like to attend the Dec 17th event.
It is my understanding that this event is a Classic run and I do not have the 5 events needed to participate.

Looking at the Fast events calendar and my work schedule in Costa Rica,
this is the last possible events that I can attend until April or May of 2017.

If you are a coffee drinker, will be glad to bribe you with a few bags of the best coffee from Costa Rica

Be happy

I just moved this post from another thread. (you'll find it on the previous page of this one, it's a few days old)

FAST Classic - Dec 17 w/ FROC competition

Postby Loren » Mon Dec 05, 2016 2:58 am

Aaaaand, here's the course map! It should look very familiar if you were at the November 6th event. It's very, very similar, but not quite the same. We wanted a "known good" course for the FROC, but that course was just slightly too fast in that it required a 3rd gear shift in the FASTiva. So, we tighted it up in a few places to make it a little more interesting to drive (can't be "flat out" in the FASTiva, might have to lift here or there) and hopefully negate the need for the 3rd gear shift.

My brother Ed and I shall be at this Classic; though he's ditched the white Prizm in favor of a red Tercel. Our first Classic event! We're stoked

Tercel, good choice! I had one for a while... loved that stupid car! It had a good "feel" to it. Hard to explain to people who don't "get it". Very light, nimble... crappy 4-speed... it drove sort of like my old Triumph Spitfire, except it was FWD.

FAST Classic - Dec 17 w/ FROC competition

Postby Loren » Wed Dec 07, 2016 10:18 am

I set up a spreadsheet last night to handle the points calculation for the FROC.

Remember, each run counts! So, I have to enter the time for each run. Then once each driver has completed a run, I can sort by time and assign their finish position. The spreadsheet automatically assigns points based on finish position. Makes it a lot easier for me.

We'll be prepping the car this Saturday afternoon. If any of the FROC drivers are interested in helping, shoot me a PM or an email.
