I paid nearly as much for the motor as I paid for the car 10 years ago... The wisdom of this is certainly questionable but I do love that engine, the engine itself has been fantastic. I think the ZF6 is just noisy, mine has made whiny noises since day one, beyond that though its a pretty great transmission.Blue_Heron wrote:Loren wrote:twistedwankel wrote:You should have a conversation with Les on how he's made his Banana handle consistently much he'll sell the Banana Beast for.
Rumor has it Les paid more for his motor than I paid for my car. But I was going to talk to him about adjustments that might make it handle better. Before I throw any money at that, I want to work on the Noisy ZF6. Maybe he has some pointers on that too.

At some point we will talk. Inc. Trailer + delivery + winning info setup + mandatory IRA withdrawal. You are not alone in your madness other than the Kia bullshit.lddavis91 wrote:In its current state? Yes!twistedwankel wrote:Hey Les are you selling the VW cheap?

I'd totally rock a Kia. Oh, wait. The Festiva was made by Kia. I already did.

Hyundai owns Kia. Doh. Nuts off for a South Korean whatever with a lot of warrantee. My Daughter wasn't too thrilled about their warrantee when she got home from Iraq and they jerked her off. But memory is short in the USA.Loren wrote:I'd totally rock a Kia. Oh, wait. The Festiva was made by Kia. I already did.

I've got a Kubota tractor that has a transmission that's almost as noisy as the ZF6. And just as robust...

Still haven't replaced my throwout bearing so I'm giving S4 a free 5/10ths off the line trying to see if I can make my car last. Got to get my excuses started early.

Launches don't affect the throw out bearing, shifting gears does. Didn't you have a clutch put in less than a year ago?Carracer wrote:Still haven't replaced my throwout bearing so I'm giving S4 a free 5/10ths off the line trying to see if I can make my car last. Got to get my excuses started early.

And you don't really need the clutch for an upshift anyhow!jbrannon7 wrote:Launches don't affect the throw out bearing, shifting gears does. That's fantastic. I still need you, Jamie and Dan to beat Ben this week so I can bump him from the podium.Carracer wrote: Fri Jul 27, 2018 11:29 am Still haven't replaced my throwout bearing so I'm giving S4 a free 5/10ths off the line trying to see if I can make my car last.
