It's not the color, someone said if you hit one it's a DNF. That's the concern.

Untrue.
We may do special events during which certain cones hit do result in dnf, but that's rare, and never at an Open or Classic. Down or out - 2 sec penalty, etc., etc.

As one who has, on occasion, said things that perhaps shouldn't be believed... you should know better than to believe everything you hear.

Whoops, my bad. While I'm glad those aren't DNF cones I still think they will get obliterated once or twice. I am often wrong though.

It took me two days to figure out that the fat red F simply meant Finish and Stop.

If you're hitting the row of cones that is 35-40 feet beyond your apex... you might need to adjust your talent.
