Steve: Yeah, rain, maybe ?

All the interior is in and done, kind of looks like a dealer brochure pic :-D

Have the front bumper extensions and b-pillars painted, cowl trim and rear window trim is painted, (not installed yet). Wiper mechanicals going in Saturday, it should go easily, but those are famously last words.

Mousetrap seatbelts. LOL

Brian,

That looks really slick - look at that reflection! Thanks for preserving another Japanese sports car! Now about that powerhouse under the hood... :snicker:

:rolling: yeah they’re not the best, Nissan was to cheap to install airbags. I’m use to them, and sorta like them, but it’s fun when someone jumps into the passenger seat, not knowing how they work. :snicker:

Thanks Tim, my expectations weren’t low, but I’m really happy with it. I’ve been driving it a bit lately with the windows down, and it’s not to bad with all the “drivetrain lightening”, it moves out alright, but the best is the way it drives. It is getting attention, you just don’t see a stock looking 240 anymore. I knew I had a solid car, and so glad I saved it; just never thought it would get this far.

I’m slowly getting the small stuff done, still need to get it compounded and waxed, small trim pieces are on hold until then. I had a belt-line stripe put on yesterday, just like a stock 240, decided to stick with flat black, I think it breaks up the body lines nicely.

Like someone with a new baby, I can’t stop showing off pictures of it. Got the bumper extensions and b-pillar garnish covers installed today, and adjusted and dialed in the headlight covers, and hood. Steve is coming by Sunday and is going to help me drop off the car and AC wheels at the detailer. Getting some wet sanding, color correction, polish, ceramic coating and overall detail along with detailing and protectant on the wheels. So hopefully the next photos will be of a completed car.

Hey Brian,
Your car looks incredible! A real time machine back to the early 90's :thumbwink:
I can't even imagine it looking better after a wet sand and polish

Keep the pictures coming.

Dan ! Good to hear from you ! Hope all is going well. You still on this side of the pond ? Thanks for the comments, I'm really happy how it has come out so far. Steve and I dropped it off at the detailers Sunday (though Steves car might have needed more attention than mine that day, a mysterious pile of fresh fish guts were scattered all over the roof of his car :barf: ). He says it should be done by the end of the week, he does a lot of classic cars that go to Mecum and other auctions, so he is looking forward to working on cars that are more his liking, so that should be a plus. 8-)

The 240 is at the detailer shop, and they installed some sweet stripes ! ;) Kinda looks like a early Foxbody Mustang

Image

The sanding, polish and detail is done, onto the ceramic coat and I can pick it up Saturday. The pics he sent to me look great, the reflection of the Vette is pretty cool. The pic of the hood looks like theres a couple scratches but it turns out its just the reflection of the electrical conduit running across the ceiling of the shop. :-D

Image

I'm pretty proud of my 240SX emblem paint job.

Got the 240 back from the detail shop today, thanks Steve ! :thumbwink:

Got the ceramic coating done on the car and the 17 inch autocross wheels. Joe also painted the rear wheel wells. He did a fantastic job, all the swirl marks are gone, and the areas where the paint was a bit lighter from a rushed polish job are gone.

Image

A few weeks back I painted the wiper cowling, cowl trim and wiper arms, and bought a new cowl trim seal, got them all installed today.

Got some photos in before to much pollen turned it yellow.

Ordered a new cat back exhaust with a resonator, it’s as close as I could find that looked stock. Next weekend I’m going to install exhaust, the fender liners, wiper washer hoses and squiters, mount the 17 inch wheels, and after that, I think it might be done. It’s nice to see all the parts that have been on my kitchen table slowly disappear.

Looks great. :thumbwink:
If you bring it to Dupont at Armature Works on March 20th with the Hubcaps, it's going to see a huge crowd especially when people see it's a manual.

Thanks for the love. I would like to attend that, but I have to finish up installing a few more parts and dealing with a timing chain guide that has given up the ghost this Saturday. How often do they hold C&C events ? I agree, if I went I would have the stock wheel covers on it.

Not sure I think the last one was in November, but Reeves and Detail Garage host their monthly "Cars and Coffee" type events too.
