You don't need to know everything to chair an event, you just delegate to those who do.

That's what I was going to say. As long as you can read the chairman guide (it's on the website, btw) and make sure that everything gets done, you're golden. It's not a difficult job, just something that nobody wants to have to do at EVERY event. Sharing that wealth is how we keep folks from getting burned out!

I agree. I was amazed at how little I actually felt like I did when I chaired. I only had six or seven events under my belt but with the help of Loren, Steven, Jamie and just about everyone else in the group, they make it pretty easy. You just need to make sure things happen in a timely fashion. I'll hopefully be able to do it again later in the 2010-2011 season.

Just need a couple more events to build some confidence.
So far, I've done course setup, teardown, supplies, timing and shagged cones.

I'd like to do tech or starter one day of the two. The more stuff I learn about how events run, the more apt I am to step up and chair one
This is a work request for tech or starter.

Thanks

Okay, we're at 21 entries for the Enduro and the Saturday event is nearly full at 57 entries. I'm making the call... the "membership" requirement is lifted, any driver who has done at least two events with FAST (that includes the Saturday event if you choose to run it) is welcome to register for the Enduro.

If you've already registered for Saturday, you may need to PM Jamie to add Sunday to your registration and arrange payment.

If you've already registered for Saturday and wish to change to both days, go to the entry list and edit your entry to change from "Saturday" to "Both", then send a note to info@wedrivefast.com. Bring the additional payment with you Sunday morning and pay the registration crew.

For new entrants -- as of this note, there are four slots left for the Saturday event. The MAE site will stop taking entries after those four slots fill; if after that point you wish to register for the Sunday event only, send a note to info@wedrivefast.com with the following information, and bring payment Sunday morning:

Is there still room for any spectators on Saturday? I'm already registered but have a friend that wants to check it out.

I'm registered as: Ronald Tomlin Class F 1995 Corvette Green

My friends name is: Joachim Romage

Just bring the $5, if there's room that is, to the event right?

OK...we're officially tapped out full for Saturday -- 60 drivers, 15 guests. The last two guest adds are Tim Allen and Joachim Romage. If you included a guest with your entry or responded to a note I sent from the info mailbox, your guest should be on the roster as well. If you're not sure, send a note to info@wedrivefast.com.

Can do Sunday only -- Sunday's still wide open.

FYI -- to allow more entries for Sunday, I'm opening up the event limit on the MAE website, but the option to enter Saturday will disappear. Also remember for those people already entered Saturday, edit your entry and send a note to info@wedrivefast.com if you want to enter Sunday as well.

Just in case no one caught the revision to the event annoucement, or the note on the key worker roster, or the note immediately above, SATURDAY'S GRID IS FULL! I've issued one event credit already...will continue to do that for anyone who tries to enter Saturday (in spite of all the notices), but unless I have cancellations, SATURDAY IS FULL.

If I could make the damn thing blink, I would....

Jamie, if it would be easier to just lock down registration, go ahead and do it.

We can handle any additional Sunday entries (which seem unlikely at this point) manually. And if we don't get more Sunday entries, that's FINE. Just means we get to do a REAL Enduro. 8)
