This will be a first for me, so I have a few questions.
- what type of helmet is required
- do I need a passanger(co-pilot)
- registration on site or on-line
- do we get to test the course before racing

Thanks
Racing against my NEON is like getting in a fight with a girl, if you win you, you can't brag about it, and if you lose, you hope nobody finds out!

Welcome! All you really need is a reliable car without parts falling off of it.

Our insurance requires a helmet with a DOT rating, nothing specific other than that. We have loaner helmets available.

You don't need a passenger, and if you brought one, we probably wouldn't let them run with you. The insurance requires any riders to be instructors, so you can have an instructor ride with you or you can ride with an instructor.

Registration is typically online (check our website for the link), but for events at SPC you can get usually get away with registering on-site. Better to register online if you can.

You get to WALK the course before competition runs begin, and as a newb, you'll get the opportunity to ride along with an experienced driver before your runs if you want to. Sometimes we do a low-speed "parade lap" with all of the cars in each run group just to be sure everyone knows what the course looks like, but more often than not, we forget to do that. (or if the course has lots of crossovers in it like this one, it's just too much of a hassle)

All that being said... just come out, be sure to raise your hand when they ask for novices and first timers at the driver's meeting, and be ready to have some fun!

Awesome, thanks :)

I did race a little amateur rally in europe in the 90's, similar concept but a little different.

Your springs kick you out of "stock", so you'll be in E3. Unlike a lot of clubs, we don't care much about the rest of your mods.

Do remember that although you've successfully registered online, you do need to check in at the registration table under the shelter before 9am and sign the insurance waiver. That insures we know who's there and don't give away your spot. Great place to get more questions answered, too.

Will we be getting the forms ahead of time to download and fill out prior to the event?

I would like to start a petition to boycott all Mustangs running in E2.

Who is with me?

I usually get the forms from SPC about 4-5 days before the event. I'll post 'em when I've got them.

Ed, SPC said it's ok to drop off the trailer on Saturday pm, and leave it til Monday am if that's what you want to do. Please let me know, 'cause I'll need to meet you with the gate key Sat. for sure, and I don't know if they'll unlock the unused pad Mon. morning or not...(and I"ll need to be there to drop off the forms anyway).

Works for me, I think.

I got Saturday's deal -- meet Steve at ______ (time) to drop off trailer. However, I am a little muddy as to what is going on Monday for pick-up. Sometimes I just need to be pointed in the correct direction and told what to do...

I have a note from your buddies in E2 to help you on Sunday: from the start, proceed to Station 1 and park the car for exactly one minute, then go directly to the finish lights...no need to bother yourself with all those pesky cones in between. They're confident that will help avoid any confusion.
