Instead of whining, why don't you ask Charles if you can take a couple runs in the cheater 240 sometime?
Tires are expensive and I don't have ABS so I have a better idea. Jeremy can drive his car for 2 runs and see what happens.
I'm also taking donations for a dyno day. If the 240 pulls more than 240whp I'll permanently move the car to R1.

Ron, can you make this happen?
I'm sure I could, but this ain't t-ball. We all don't get to be winners.
(And bribery doesn't work either, right Brian?)

Well I did finish first in my class and hit no cones.

You've got the mayor thinking again.
I might have the solution if you can get the reagents to "combine".

Did I miss something? Why does this matter?
It is an M2 car. It is a very good one.
When Jeremy plugs his communications cable into it, all the ones and zeros in his brain tell him just what to do with it.
And, yes with the new classing, M1 isn't a really a bump up in class anymore, it's just different types of cars that are faster than m3. A bump up would be to M0, but no one runs there.
I think Jeremy should just run M2.
Build your own, or deal with it.

Sounds like the rules need tweaked then, since bumping is a major part of the mod rules. Flip flop all the cars in M1 and M2?

Perhaps we can say that based on what we've seen in just the past 5 months makes it LOOK like M1 is not notably faster than M2.
But, really... consider the cars that are competing in M1 and the cars that COULD compete in M1.
At this time, the class is led (in season points) by Drew and Mario. Both are very good drivers, which is why they're at the top of their class. But, are their cars the "ultimate M1 machines"? Are they the best choice for the class AND prepared as well as they can be? (within reason... with almost no restrictions on our rules, people CAN go nuts... we don't expect them to) I don't think so. If either of them invested the kind of money that some of the M2 guys do into their suspension, they'd be MUCH faster.
And they're not even necessarily "the best" cars in the class. It's hard to say what is. But, something like the infamous S3-killer cheater 1LE Camaro would be an M1 car... and could be made much faster. Pre-2005 Corvettes are M1 cars. Imagine something not too far from Les Davis' Corvette on a set of fat street tires. The Mazdaspeed Miata could be developed into a 300 hp, 2400 pound beast with killer suspension and 245-width street tires and be VERY, VERY fast.
And that's all without even considering the M2 cars that could bump up to M1. Imagine a BRZ with added forced induction and a proper suspension on 255 or wider tires.
I think you guys are seriously understimating the POTENTIAL of M1. Just because nobody is doing it yet doesn't mean that the potential isn't there. There are some really good chassis classed in M1, with potential for a lot more power than M2. Just add suspension, tires and driver.

yeah, remember when Jeremy had his lightly modified S2000. He was running street tires in the R1 class...and winning. And my Vette is hardly modified. It's all suspension, no real motor mods, stupid wide tires, and a ridiculous 4-speed slush box. Oh and I forgot the high speed 2.59 rear gears. I'm sure there is a solid 1 second driver mod needed, and a solid 2 seconds in possible mods....but it's a low-budget build. The other kicker of M1 to M2 are the course layouts...aren't most M2 cars slightly smaller cars? Like 240s and miatas? They can easily have an advantage on tighter courses when sporting more power...if they can put it to the pavement.

Course layout is a big factor. My crystal ball predicts there will be a lot of scenarios at Brooksville where M2 cars can/will be faster than M1 cars...mostly because of course designs. Sadly, I won't be around to witness it, but I'll be happy to support the whines and cries of the M1 guys from NH. I'll just have to bring down my STU prepped c5 FRC Vette...not that I'm building one...yet.

STU C5, now we are talking! Take care up in NH and buy lots of warm clothes...and a truck with a plow on the front.
