They're not that bad, especially in the right hands. But, yeah, the S2000's peaky torque curve is part of the reason I'm not the best at driving them. I'm used to having no power and shifting at 7k. Do that in an S2000 and you're missing all of the benefit that the S2000 has over a Miata! You've got to rev the snot out of it to release the advantage... not unlike an RX-8, really.

The Wankel comes on like a Geisha...flat on back torque as a mesa from 1500 to 9200 and 45 degree HP increase as straight as an arrow to fuel cut off (flubadub). There are no curves to a Geisha or a Rotary power description.
The Honda S2000 Power Curve is more like Mt. Fujiyama. Smooth almost all the time until it hits climax. Then all hell breaks loose.

Just in case anyone forgot, registration closes tomorrow evening. Early Session has been full for many days. You can still get into the Late Session.
90 drivers registered altogether. Should be a fun and competitive event!

The S2000 is a lot like the Miata in that it's a really great handling car from the factory. It's easier to mess the handling up with "improvements" than it is to actually make it better. Perhaps you've fallen victim to that? Or maybe you just need to keep "tuning the driver"? Get a good driver who knows S2000's to take a drive in your car and evaluate your setup and maybe show you what the car is capable of. (I'm not sure I qualify for this one, I've never quite figured out how to drive an S2000)
My S only has a front sway bar, and in the words of elliot, it needs it or its useless lol.
Def needs more driver mod, I raced with FAST back when i had a 97' prelude SH so its a change.

Yeah, it's quite a change from an old FWD car. Keep at it, it will all come together.

Doug -- if you look down, there's a big pedal next to the transmission tunnel...when the course straightens out, press down on it! You'll get better results.
A Miata is hanging on to the top ES spot at Nationals, but there's way too many of those mid-engine MR2 things in the trophies.

Lord why did I tell Jamie something was wrong with the universe with him having a hardtop on his Miata.
....Transmissiion Tunnel....pedal.....push to floor.....got it!!! Now that wasn't in the owner's manual. Thanks Jamie.

Personally, I think Doug has been lax with his tire pressure checking lately.

Guess I'd better bring my gauge and pump...

Not required. Computer tire monitor is accurate within 1 psi on all tires push a button. It blows lunch at 42psi "danger Will Robinson". Ask me now I know that. 36-40 is a sweet spot in the summer sun.
I WILL bring the weed sprayer for cooling down and bleach burnouts tho'

Oh, so that's why I've not seen you furiously running around the car with a tire pressure gauge after every run!

Yeah. I've been way too relaxed lately. Sitting on ass pushing buttons. Time to tally me bananas.
Might even have to go mess with Tony in S0 this season if no one else does

I know Steve could care less as we have a "personal" wager.
We can both move to S0, double team Tony and not affect the run work order in the least.
Watch Tony and Tim out doing their rain dances for the next few days

When I don't have to cool my tires off I can be really quick too.
Tony you will have to work harder than ever for the T Shirt in 2016 there are no "freebies" in FAST

Yeah, bump us to S0, I don't care...I haven't gotten a first place sticker in a long time...might be fun!

Ah...that explains it. The car checks his tire pressure for him, he thinks it'll drive fast for him as well.
And nuts...ES trophy results from Nationals:
MR2
MR2
Miata
MR2
Miata
MR2

Miata (an NA, no less!)

Wish you guys would have had this class-changing discussion last week. Much easier to make the change then. But, let me know if you want to do it. Still easier to do before the event than during.

Sorry. Didn't know it would be any issue. Didn't realize there was only one person there getting a "bye" until recently.
Yes we would like to run
S0 please.
I'll bring lunch for the dozen disciples for pentence and they will love it.

Not a big huge deal, but during registration, I always have MSReg open on my computer. Changing a class or car number at that point takes about 5 seconds and only has to be done in one place.
But, I'll get y'all moved so that you can try to make good on your threats to Tony.
