If you're ON the bump stops at rest, you should probably trim them a little bit. If changing the stops made it sit higher, you're probably on them.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm on them. Gonna need to trim them I'm sure. Thing looks like a monster truck in the back. Feels better tho.

But, again, if you were on FRESH shocks, you probably would be at that height and NOT on the bump stops.
Stock Miatas actually DO sit kinda tall... whether you think they should, or not!

This is also true. I'm gonna leave it as it sits and get a feel for it. We can all inspect it next Sunday and laugh at it. Lol

They'll laugh until you beat them. Then all the cool kids will be rockin' Miatas all jacked up in the rear.

Run 'em as is for a bit. They may compress down a little on the shock shaft. The car sits higher on newly installed shocks, too -- it may come down a bit as they wear in.

Reading through Loren's thread on Tampa miatas, these VW bump stops are apparently 130mm lol. I think that might account for the 4x4 look. We'll see if they come down at all by next weekend. If not I might trim them down while we're all working.

Yeah... those are the ones I've used for a Miata. Might have used them for the Mirage or the Festiva or something.

If those are longer (clearly they are), you'll need to cut them to fit.

Guess I'll pull the suspension back apart then. Doh.
Now to decide what length to cut them down to.

Being that long, they're almost surely softer than the stock NB stops. I wouldn't cut them to stock length. Find the length of those Honda stops. Maybe 5-10mm less than that would probably be a good starting point.

I just went and measured the set i bought to do the front. Sure enough, they're 130mm long. I figured our wires got crossed on the bump stops I was using that got suggested in Ken's thread. Lol

Looks like you measured the Civic bump stops according to your thread and they were 75mm long.Loren wrote:Being that long, they're almost surely softer than the stock NB stops. How is Ken using the ones I installed at full length and not complaining about his 4x4 miata?
