Watching your video I think you would not have needed to downshift at the end of the slalom had you gone to the right.

Thanks, Joe.
That's the line Bill and I were taking. One of us :derp: actually hit that apex cone once. And we kept it nice and tight until the tires got too hot to allow it. Good stuff!

As for coursemaps, I'll tell the noobs, once, not to cling to the line on the map. Once.

Loren wrote:Another idea that has been proposed, and maybe someday we'll do it at a Classic event, is the "no map, no course walk" event. Someone even suggested having like 3 pairs of people go out and put the course together on-the-fly with no pre-drawn design. (basically, old school autocross setup... that's the way it was usually done!) Two guys do the outgoing side, two guys do the return side, two guys do the turnaround part... and do whatever transitions are required to link the pieces together. Have safety walk it, add pointers, tweak it as-needed, do a safety run... and rock it!
AND this will be called: "The Ron Rice Invitational." For he is the master of this. I'm still waiting for Ron's "build thread" for MO. It's not happening is it!! Go Ron. The Panther be with you.

Really?!? I don't remember that. I actually tried it both ways and settled on going right as I was hitting the rev limiter just before that section and I liked the exit a lot better starting right. Ultimately, I honestly believe it was six of one or a half dozen of the other, how you attacked the slalom was much more important than how you entered it.

De Nile is a long river. So is Amazon.com

My co-driver might had said viewing the turnaround: "Is it circumcised?"

Thanks Philip. You've given us some great "keeper" photos over time to remind us of our younger days :thumbwink:

IMO your photos are way better than another "professional" photographer recently simply because you choose great visuals/angles. You tell a story. I feel like I was there. (Oh we were there...hahaha). :smack:

It's time for stiffer springs, this stock suspension isn't cutting it anymore :rolling:

Being 2 feet off the cones isn't doing you any favors, either. ;)

Gotta love the expressions...Maria has a big grin, and Doug looks like he's about to put it in the dirt.

You're running without coilovers and hollow(een) bars in M? Who do you think you are? Philip. :snicker: Your headlights are way too small too. Like candles in the wind.

Pretty sure he's running "stock" suspension from another model. Type R suspension, as I recall. The car actually handles REALLY well, as I recall from the one time I drove it.

Saw that two cones off :smack:

Bilstein sports with type r springs and sway bars is what I am. The only other non oem part are the upper control arms for camber. Had it for 4 years, and wanted to drive it as is with the lsd and different motor to decide what to do. It's a great dual use setup.

Driver (me) is still lacking, but I can tell its a bit soft and could be stiffer so I will look into changing it up hopefully by the winter. Want to keep this setup thought in case I want to go back.
