Well 50° isn't cold, but it sure isn't warm, and if the forcast holds true for Brooksville, we're looking at upper 30's to low 40's in the morning hours. I don't know where you come from, but that's pretty cold to me.

As long as it's sunny and not windy, I have no problem with 40° weather.

BTDT last weekend. There was ice on the ground at Gainseville when I got there a little after 8. By 10, it was rather nice out -- I could live with the same thing this weekend.

According to Bay News 9 this morning, Saturday morning could see some upper 20's in Brooksville. That's likely before the sun comes up. High was forecasted to be 60. It appears that there will be almost no wind.

I'll still be wearing shorts.

Sorry you are going to miss out on this one Ron.
We could use another volunteer for registration, since Ron was set to handle that. William and Leo have both volunteered to help with reg. but neither has done it before. A quick coaching to get them going may be all that is needed. Not a lot to it.

Since I'll be bringing the reg. box, and admission list, I can show 'em how to use it, too, at least unless someone else would like to do it.

Should be pretty easy if we get to pre-print the forms -- find the person's form, take their money (if not pre-paid), and make sure they sign the waiver and take a wristband. Off they go. Numbers and classes are already assigned.
Drew...do we have a course yet?

Sorry to change the subject back to the weather. BUT. It will be in the lower 20's at the Brooksville airport Saturday morning. I think I'll skip this event do to inclimate weather. Sorry.

To help encourage people to come out in the cold ...
FAST is going to try something new. There will be a concession stand selling hot chocolate and capuccino. There will also be some BIG muffins in a variety of flavors.
Hot drink and a muffin for $2.
Profits are to help raise funds for new loaner helmets and other club expenses. If it works well tomorrow we'll consider other "breakfast" ideas throughout the year. (Suggestions welcome.)

Wuss! It'll warm up.
(I've bailed out for less though.)

The hot chocolate idea is a good one!! I bet you sell out.
As far as the weather goes, it will be in the 20's before the sun comes up, but should warm up pretty quick after sunrise. It's suppose to be in the 60's by the afternoon, and if the wind doesn't pick up past 10mph (forcasted) it should be comfortable.
I e-mailed Drew to see if he wants me to bring my 70,000 BTU propane heater.

Hot chocolate! I'm SO there!
Word to the wise (that would be our event chairman): Treat the cold just as you would treat extreme heat. Keep the run groups as short as possible to minimize everyone's exposure to the cold.

I won't take that bet.
BTW, Willemina (my wife) has graciously offered to run this concession in addition to towing the trailer simply because she loves me and wants to support me in the activities I enjoy.
What a wife!

I don't blame you, there's a reason I've lived in FL all my life:)
Below 55 degrees is freezin', if I hadn't already volunteered to help with a few things I'd bail too!

Pilgrim, sorry you won't make it...it's only gonna be cold for a little while - we'll see you next time!
Bill, you're a lucky man! (with a great idea for cold morning)
Charles, I'm born and raised, and I'm with you - i am NOT looking forward to tomorrow until after 10 or so...

I just keep telling myself - layers, layers, layers

Don't I know it!
All we need is a shot of brandy* in the hot chocolate to make it REALLY good! But we're about to drive, so ...
* Coconut rum works well too. Or Amaretto. Or ...

Already on it...I'm drafting out run groups for Drew tonight.
