Why? They're registered as '65 Cobras, so they're close enough to pass for production. Should be good for F if on street tires, B if on race tires.

I'll get in and fiddle with G as we get closer to the event...fix it all at once.

The Cobras could potentially end up in A, as well, if "modified" and on race tires.

I'm cool with him in F, for now, I like a challenge. I guess we'd have to see at tech to see if he's got mods to put him in a different class. But just being a replica shouldn't throw him in a different class should it? I do look forward to seeing him on the track regardless.

From the Factory Five website:
"The Factory Five Racing Mk4 roadster is designed with modern technology and materials to perform better than the original car, while keeping its primal essence intact."

That's just the Mk4 (street version). The FF Challenge car is a pure race car.

Neither one fits the definition "full duplication of a stock 60's vintage Cobra", as far as I'm concerned. We don't allow different engines or internal engine mods in stock (how many FF's come with a vintage and factory spec 289/429?). We don't allow changes to the fuel system in stock , how many of them are sporting vintage carbs? We don't allow changes to suspension pickup points or springs or ride height.

Need I go on? These cars belong in "R" with Scott's Stalker and Ivan's Birkin. Even if they're on street tires.

And if they're properly set up and well-driven, they'll still wax us all.

I'm glad there are people making sure that cars are in the right class. Nobody wants to get beat by a faster car.

Since we are talking about cars and classes, I have a question. Does anyone know what the heck this vehicle is: 10 R-A-C Challenge T.B.D.??? There are two listed for J.

Do you think there will be a track map posted soon?

The Mercedes E55 is listed in f stock, the e 63 although not listed should be in the same class since it is a similar car. I have been told that it is listed in one of the recent updates but have not seen it for myself.

I am guessing R-A-C stands for rent-a-car.

They don't get beaten by a faster car...they get beaten by a Yaris.... :)

Classing...happy with whatever the classing guy (Jeremy, I think) decides. Figure out who's where when registration closes and I'll fix 'em.

I'm sure the Classing will get straightened out. Catching it all ahead of time is best. But, even during the event, it can be adjusted for the results. So if the RAC (lol - I knew of SEC Racing, and NMC Racing is good, too) is misclassed, it'll get fixed. Hopefully at registration or earlier, but if not, during the day.

It's all good.

True, but doing the beating in that case is that much sweeter! 8)

I'm gonna hit up the Toyota dealer and see if they can put some of the "unintended acceleration" that they're removing from all the Camry's into my Yaris. Woohoo!

That's a good enough excuse for buying car parts. "I had to get it. The cat will love the box!"

BTW, I may have a future tow vehicle.
