The course and execution was awesome, which made for a fun day. Grats to everyone that got a sticker, and a warm welcome to all the newbies.

I too had a great time. My driving left a little to be desired, but I guess I need more practice! It was nice to see everyone for a change.

Cool course - I see why everyone wanted a shot at it in the dry. My rev limiter got a workout today. See y'all at the Duel...

Another great event ! Loved the course on a dry and sunny day, it was very challenging.

Lunch was awesome! Loved the hamburger hotdog thingy.

Chairs did a great job running another great FAST event, and thanks to everyone that pitched in a little extra.

Small rant probably suitable for another thread. The courser workers for the third run group were spread way to thin. Except for the area by the decreasing slalom all the stations were mostly manned by one person. My friend Dan ran across the course to reset a cone only to find a completely unmanned station. He stayed there and manned the radio and shaged cones. I think we need some sort of sign in sheet or check in to make sure that all course workers are accounted for. Just my 2ยข :)

Great event, about the third run group, I was wondering about that feeling short handed, and first time i was handling the radio, so I was a bit confused on what to do, sorry about any difficulties I may caused was a bit lost

You did nothing wrong, it was a issue with a large course that had cones being hit all over the place, and we were short handed. Though I have to give a thumbs up to everyone that worked that run group ! There were no issues because everyone out there hustled and got the job done.

Brian, chalk it up to new processes and/or new people working old processes. Jamie used to do a lot of worker wrangling along with pre-registration. I've taken over pre-reg, and I'm doing the worker lists pre-event (because we're all pre-registered, it can be done that way). But, I'm not as generous as Jamie was, I'm not going to commit to wrangling workers AT the event... so, while this wasn't Joe's first time as an event chair, it WAS his first time dealing with workers. There's a learning curve involved.

A BIG part of the problem, especially in the last group, was the combination of late cancels, no-shows and people who had to leave early... I just need to learn to not spread the workers so thin so that we can more easily deal with missing people.

I may look at changing how we handle work assignments. We're running into situations where, for instance, we've "promised" the first 4 people who signed up for Timing jobs those positions, but then we end up with a) requiring at least one of the two people working timing to be very experienced and b) a fair number of people who can't physically work course and need a timing work assignment. So, we may go to committing only those positions that are hard to fill, like setup, teardown, towing, etc. It's generally NOT hard to find volunteers for timing, grid or start! More about that when we start signup for the next regular event. (The Feb Duel will be a different animal entirely)

Now, let me get the results uploaded...

Oh, by the way, GREAT event!

If you didn't get one the ribs they are to die for. Tell your car clubs. He sells beer and does parties too. An American experience.
