235x40-17 Toyo R1s

Postby jmdoc66 » Mon Jan 30, 2012 7:49 pm

These are almost new. They have one day, (5 runs) of autoX on them. They came on a set of rims I bought for a focus. I wanted the wheels for my daily driver, but tried them at an autox before I dismounted the tires and put on daily tires. These are in excellent shape. $200 Tires are in Port Richey

What are the date codes on these RA1's?

I looked and they said 506. I take it that translates to week 50 of 2006. Makes them quite old. Funny, they still seem pretty pliable and they also seemed to pick up every little rock and pebble when I had them on the car. oh well. Make offer.

Thanks,
Mike

3 digit codes were used up to 2000, 2000+ got 4 digit codes, so to be week 50 of 2006 it would say 5006.

506 would be week 50 of 1996 :headscratch:

RA1's are known for being the "most forgiving" of that type of tire as far as handling heat cycles and age. The joke used to be that compared to an all-out race tire, they suck... but, they suck for a LONG time!

Good luck with the sale. I just wanted to get that info out there. We have some less-experienced folks here that wouldn't know to ask or even think about how old the tires are or to check their softness. If they're still grippy, they're still good! They won't hang with a new tire, but they might be fun to play on.

Yep thats for all four tires. $150 for a fast member that will use them.
I insist you look at all 4 before you decide. If your interested I may be able to meet you somewhere in Tampa after work.
