I look forward to seeing you all in Brooksville... of course after seeing you all at SPC in two days!
I also see Loren has joined M1... that should keep it interesting.

It won't get really interesting until I start driving John's car. But, I'll do my best to be a nuisance there for now.

I see you guys tried to slip registration past me again! Ha! I'm easily in this time, thanks to a PM from Matt.
I updated my calendar with all of the remaining dates, so hopefully this will help me avoid the slamming door. I had to adapt to this survival-of-the-fittest, cut-throat game of FAST Registration.
I echo Matt's sentiment, Loren. Welcome to M1. You're going to be driving John's car? Does that mean John Evans' Miata?

Aye, "that guy's" Miata. I'm gonna win M1 with it, he's gonna win M2. Got somethin' to say about it?

Charles and myself are running m2/m1 respectively, starting next season. Should be fun. Just need those Koreans to start making tires in our size.

Well, hell. There goes my win!
Wait... you're in a 240. Nevermind.

You have a lot of good competition in M1 and M2. Good luck! But seriously, how can that car be in M1? Wouldn't it be in M2 with Chris Meier's car? Same type of Miata.

How can a tubbed-out racecar be in M1 or M2?

Between this and John's Miata, I'm reminded that I don't know much about the classing rules.
What was my stock class again?

I might need to go back over there.

Our Mod classes don't have much in the way of rules. Charles' 240 may possibly be stripped enough to qualify as "race car", I honestly haven't looked at it that hard. The intent of the "Stock" and "Mod" classes is "street cars".
The most relevant rule is actually found in the definition of the Race Tire category:
Da Rulez wrote:Even though modifications in the “Modified” classes are largely unlimited, we would prefer to see a car that has clearly been stripped, caged, and otherwise turned into what most people would consider to be a “race car” in the Race Car class.
John's Miata is actually an M2 car. I'm just bumping myself up a class (into the class his car would bump to with an added turbo or engine swap) so that I don't have to compete directly against John.

I'm in.
14 entries already - all very familiar names.
Us regulars learn "fast." heehee...
I'll co-chair with someone who's willing to do most of the work...preferrably someone wanting to get their feet wet, so to speak.

The 240 is only missing a 10 oz. backseat cushion, radio and one door speaker.
I wouldn't call that tubbed out. lol

It's also missing a deck lid with a spoiler.

I can't say much, I ran M3 in the Yaris with no back seat.
Just try to keep a reasonably complete interior in the Mod classes.

So Street Mod cars aren't allowed in FAST's mod class for street cars.
Got it.

Our Mod classes are more based on SP, which requires full interior. But, you knew that already.

I always thought it was basically a highly modified track car, but then again, I guess that's what the M class is about, so ... my bad.
Honestly. I have no ground to stand on. I run my totally stock car in a mod class. Please disregard my comments.

I have intel from a reliable source that that seatback cushion weighs a minimum of 14 oz. Sandbagger!

Oh it's also missing the trunk interior and the passenger side kick panel. But we need to buy one of those soon so people will stop kicking the ECU.
It still has everything else though, rear deck with 2 6x9's, full dash with heater core, 6" speaker in one door. About 100 miles of wires from various installs from previous owners, carpet, headliner, all plastics except for the ones mentioned, center console, interior lighting, and a lot of dirt. I think since I drive it so fast that people think it must be a Formula 1 car.
The current interior rule kinda makes sense since most people don't have a stripped interior, but since mods are UNLIMITED someone could build a really fast car where 5 pounds of interior plastics is not going to make much of a difference.

True enough. Having an interior goes hand in hand (for most people) with a car being a legitimate street car, which is our intent. If it's a car that is never street driven, gets brought in on a trailer, etc... oh, wait... nevermind...
