January 25, 2014 - FAST Classic at Brooksville

Mark your calendars for the first (hopefully of many) "FAST Classic" autocross! Registration will open somewhere around January 4th.
This will be a casual, no-points, no-stress, no-novices (for the purposes of THESE events, the cut-off for "novice" is 3 events) event, just straight up autocross and lost of it! Just like the old days of FAST. The entry fee is more than our regular events (but, still on par with what you'd pay to run with most other clubs), and since entry is limited to no more than 60 drivers, and with less time devoted to driver's meeting and novice instruction, there will be more runs.
Full Details here.

Imagine yourself at an event on a clear day with a light breeze and cool dry air and the drivers' meeting takes up maybe 10 minutes. Sweet image, no?

3 autocross events. Just gotta know how to play the game so that we don't have to teach you!

It is cool!
But just to be double-clear, we love noobs and anyone new to the game is welcome, and encouraged to attend any of our regular points events. We'll take good care of you there!

Great idea guys ! I miss the "old days" when we had more time to socialize than we do with the split format. I will be there for this one for sure !

Can we leave the trailer on site? Park it over behind the motorcycle training area. I think the BMW(?) club does that.

That's a really good question. Besides the potential negatives of being exposed to the weather and theft or damage, it would certainly be convenient to leave it there for a while. All of our events are at Brooksville through March, I think.
Will discuss with Steve.

Registration for this event is now open, and it's just 3 weeks away! Being a Brooksville event, we have to close registration on the 15th... which means you have just 11 days left to register!
Go register already!

H. One (or more) lucky participant(s) can ride in the Grey8 that beat "Loren the Inedible" and bruised my left knee with G forces.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Thanks for letting me draft you to help, Doug!
33 drivers and 4 guests so far. Still plenty of room to enter.
Shhh... for those of you who don't have three events yet... if you have TWO, feel free to PM or email me and plead your case. If you feel you can get by without instruction and you know how to safely man a worker station by yourself if necessary... that's what we're after. If you're not ready to fly solo (either as a driver or a worker), then you're better to hold out for the next Championship event in February.

Link on the website shows that Brooksville has been moved to St. Petersburg. When did they do that?
I'm sure all the non-noobs know where Brooksville is, but just to avoid confusion...

Yeah, I was installing a new schedule app last night and it was being difficult to configure. Of course, I always optimistically start these silly projects at 1:30am. So, by the time 4am rolled around... I wasn't done yet and called it quits.
Will be sorted out soon.

This is a slight revision of one that Steve did for an event back in 2010 that everyone loved. Should be fun!
