Isn't it about time I started a discussion thread for this event? I thought so.

Just three points events left in the 2013-14 Championship. May, June & July. This one's at Brooksville, the last two will be at Tampa Bay Downs.

Registration is already open for this event and will close on May 8. That's just a week and a half away, so don't put it off. Go Get Registered!

Because we had so much fun with it last time, we're going to do the "Bring Your Friends" Challenge again. The group that has the most registered drivers present at the event will be eligible for a drawing for three free event entries. The Mazda guys walked away with it last time, but the Fords weren't too far behind... and, really... the other groups weren't so far behind that they could be considered out of contention. So, round up your friends, post on your forums, whatever you need to do. Details below

Announcing:
Another "Bring Your Friends" Challenge

Help us fill up this event and get a chance to win a free event entry! We're starting the challenge a little earlier this time to give each group a fair shot at the prize.

Here's the deal: Entries are split into groups by car manufacturer. Members of the group with the largest attendance at the May 18 event will take part in a drawing during trophy presentation at the end of the event where we will give away three FREE EVENT ENTRIES!
  • Groups are: Ford, Other US Makes, Mazda, Other Asian Makes, European Makes
  • FAST Staff (Loren, Steve, Drew, Matt, Dave & Ron) are excluded from the count.
  • No-shows are excluded from the count.
  • Since a lot of Early session drivers leave at noon, you need not be present to win, we'll notify you by email.
I'll post updates occasionally, but right now... would you believe the Euro cars are ahead? Bring on the Ferrari's and Lambo's and Aston's! (we know those guys need free entries)
Euro - 9
Ford - 8
Mazda - 7
Other Asian - 6
Other US - 4

Signed up for the long drive to Brooksville.

Hope to have some turn-arounds to emphasize AWD acceleration...

I need some points!

You're welcome. I missed the last points event to go north for my Mother's 80th B Day. Lets see if I can hold off your monster car with my little underpowered 2 wheel drive over weight roadster.

Is the course map ready?

Joe

Looking at the Avatar...you might be playing down the power department...besides roll bar screams RACE CAR! I may have to petition to have your car moved into a higher class...(depending on if I win or not...)

That is the first I'm heard of an M-roadster being referred to as "under-powered" Joe, you do realize people race Miata in this club right? :D

I think I'm going to push to make this one. Going to run it by my wife to see if she thinks we can drive all the way friday night/Saturday morning (family road trip). Loren, when's the last day to cancel in case we don't make it back into town until Sunday?

Hey Les,

I was comparing the M's output to Tim's Boosted Buggy. Intercooled, chipped and the waste gate clamped down he has probably got 450hp. Don't really know for sure but this is good trash talk.

Darn it, that's two in a row that land on my on-call weekend! What are the chances?!

I'll be slumming with the BMW club this weekend. :) J/K, I used to like those guys. I just don't see them much anymore.

Did somebody say "course map"?

This is an improved version of the last FAST Classic course at Brooksville. It's the same... but different. (pro-tip: you WILL use the brakes in places you didn't before)

We just hit the half-way mark on entries for this event. Remember, registration closes on May 11, just a little over a week left.

Bring Your Friends contest update:
Euro - 10
Mazda - 9
Ford - 8
Asia - 8
US - 6

The Euro cars are still in the lead, with just about everybody else right on their heels! Where's the rest of the Mustang club? And why haven't the Chevy and Dodge guys ganged up to take over? Honda guys? Subaru guys? Sciobaru guys? And where the heck are the rest of the Miatas???

I hope at least one of my cars is ready for this. Both currently have transmissions sitting on a bench.
