Postby Loren » Wed Feb 25, 2015 1:18 pm

Are you ready for another FAST Championship autocross? Of course you are! Half the country is buried in snow and ice, we are OBLIGATED to autocross as much as possible!

Registration for this event is open until March 9th. We're at about 25% capacity already.

Because this is a Championship event, it is open to all licensed drivers. Novices and first timers are welcome, so be sure to invite them!

Registration and event info here:

Joan has to be done by then, right?
Loren, could you credit my account for the Duel cancellation? Else, am I missing something during the registration process?

Not only it is on a Saturday but it's a week after daylight savings time. Love having the extra daylight after getting home after the late session.

Yeah, I usually process cancelations after the event so that I can do no-shows at the same time.

One week left to register for this one. Share this event with your friends, family and car groups! There's a big SCCA event going on up in Georgia that we may lose a few people to, we need all the people we can get for this one.

This link will tell anyone everything they need to know about this event:

One week left...so the course map should be posted, eh? No excuses about Duel taking up your extra time now...

I will expect it to be AWD friendly cause god knows I need the points against the Drewmonster and Marco the wonder man driving that twin supercharged Solstice job.

The Subaru has been rectified of any tail happiness...pure rally grip to be delivered. Come on rain!

I'm signed up...during the fast time...ie afternoon.

Cheers!

Since it may be on the low side for attendance...maybe give us a few more seconds on course...maybe a loop at the end.

OK,
I'm in for the morning session and managed (with a little persuasion from Loren) to twist Tammy's arm to drive.

Can't wait to get out there again. I'm even bringing (dragging along) :P my mother all the way from the UK to see what it's all about. Maybe she'll be up for a passenger ride

Looking forward to seeing you all there.
Dan.

You must have a self generating course map APP!!

Kind of amazing in a way. :headscratch:

I could not do 24 maps/year unless I owned an APP AND a smartphone.

It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it!

Even more mind blowing is that each coure goes through a review and approval process that usually results in one or more revisions. I do a lot of the "slave labor", but Drew and Steve check each course before it is ever published.

Pretty weird to think of a mod Miata guy and a mod Foxbody guy ever agreeing on anything?? :salute:

Not to worry. Soon you will lose your mind and go to the "other side" and co-drive my used Vette which is actually merely a trick lowered Stang/ balanced V8 Miata where course design doesn't matter.

I can't afford high-horsepower tires. I can barely afford Miata tires!

Which is why I bought Michelin SS 300 wear, long life tires with a 2 year, 15k rear-30k front treadwear warrantee:)

You know I'll be collecting on that one for the rears for sure :thumbwink:

Nice layout...I'm not sure how so many courses can be produced either...

Side note: had my alignment checked yesterday...Brooksville on the mid-February event most likely knocked my alignment out on the front. I recall the impact...I was indeed off the ideal line, but we know the runway surface is degradating and hope the course layout folks can take that into account with minor adjustments.

And no that wasn't an excuse for poor performance...that was all me.

:)

We look at that during setup and move things around as we can. You're right, though. The surface is breaking up. It's 70+ years old!

On the plus side, we will soon be shifting operations down toward where the cycle pad was in the hopes that the concrete is in a little better condition in that middle area that hasn't been used as much.
