Sept 27 - FAST Classic @ Brooksville

We'll be rockin' another FAST Classic in a few weeks! This will be the "All Steve" edition, as Loren will be out of town.

For the noobs among us, a FAST Classic is a sort of old school "small club" autocross, but with the usual FAST flair! Fewer drivers, a little later start, a respectably early end, awesome lunch... oh, and lots of runs! (usually around 8) A little less focus on competition, a lot less focus on teaching the novices, and a lot more focus on having a good time! It's a great opportunity to get some practice, swap cars with some friends, and just have some extra fun.

Normally, the FAST Classic events require entrants to have at least 3 prior events of experience. For THIS event only, we're going to loosen that restriction to 2 prior events... and we'll even go as far as to allow drivers with just ONE event of prior experience to register IF their one event was the September 13th FAST Open event.

So, what are you waiting for?

Registration is open!

Registration closes in 6 days! Monday, 9/21.

The event is half-full already, and we're gonna do an email blast and Facebook push later this week. It is possible that this event could fill up. Don't get left out! You know what to do.

this would be perfect to test out a couple things with the car
I was running on broken motor mounts and tire pressure way to low at the last event
and I will try more stable alignment this time around
cant wait!

Looks like a fun course. This will be the first time driving my MX-5 at more than 7/10th's (I was auto-xing a 06 Mustang GT previously). Hoping for a good shake-down and evaluation day. Looking forward to it!

Took Ben up on his offer to drive the FASTiva before he changed his mind. We'll see if it's as frightening as Loren maintains. :)

8-) Awesome! I'm looking forward to getting some input from you, FWD is strange to me. That's also probably why the car feels scary, I'm not driving it smoothly enough.

Ben's not gonna change his mind, Jamie... you put too many hours into that car to not get a shot at driving it!

So this is really where you got the idea for the rear suspension change right?

We used to call that a "mental health day"!

Actually, I did have a job once where they accepted that people would use their "sick leave" however they wanted to, and flat out called it "sick/well time"! You could call in an hour before your shift and say "I'm feeling well, I think I might go fishing, I'll be in 4 hours late", and as long as you had some time saved up, you were good!

You did say you've been ill. That sucks. You do drive like you are a sick person!! Everyone says how sick you drive.

Get well soon.

I was studying the course map and really appreciate that hatched line which shows where S0 will be 6-8 car lengths ahead of S4 this time. :thumbwink:

No worries...this time, you'll be able to tell us how it feels to get clobbered by a car putting 60 hp to the crank.

It's not the hours...it's the blood!

Ooooh, it's ON now! I want video. Photos. Telemetry. CNN coverage. This will be epic!

(What? No, I did NOT mean that it will take an epoch for the FASTiva to get around the course!)
