Hello!
Some of you may remember me, some not. Unfortunately with my schedule as of late, I have been using my vacation time to spend with my son on the rare weekend day I get off, instead of autocrossing. While this has placed a small damper on my ability to have fun with the car in a safe and FAST environment, it has not affected my enthusiasm for cars. The last time I went to a tire shop for installation of tires I bought online, I had a miserable experience, and purchased some pretty decent equipment to do these jobs myself. I plan on taking my car obsession to another level in the years to come, so making a large purchase for high quality mounting and balancing equipment was an investment in my eyes. Not to mention, I would no longer have to fall victim to a potentially bad installation at the hope of saving a buck.
I'm offering drop-off mounting and balancing service for $45/set of four. If you need to get tires done on your daily and you do not have spare wheels to put on the car, you can bring the vehicle with wheels still installed, and I can do the tires while you wait for $60. I warn you, I am quite anal when it comes to tire balancing, and because of that I spend probably twice as long to balance a tire as any one else. Balancing a tire properly is where you notice the most difference in quality of the job, and as of now, I have yet to hear one person, in the almost 30 sets of tires I've done with this new machinery, complain about the balancing of the tires. Because of this, the days I can do that specific job is a bit more limited, and you'll need to contact me in advance to set up a good day. This will take pretty close to 2.5 hours, longer if you stay over after the job to have a cold one, and talk about cars. I hope I've been able to help out a lot of you get good mounting/balancing without having to spend $100 a set. As those of you who have stayed and watched my machine in action, you know that there is no better place to go that can be as gentle as I can on your wheels. You've spent a lot of money on them, don't take them to a shop that uses those horrible metal clamps that pull outwards from the center of the wheel!
The tires you provide, mounted on your wheels, and professionally balanced, including stick on weights in either silver or black to match your wheel. $45/set, or $12 each min of 2.
Why should you use me over someone else? Pretty simple really. I'm cheaper, and unless you're going to find a place that uses a $6,000-$10,000 Roadforce GSP 9700 balancer, you're going to get a balance that's as good, or better than anything you find. Couple that with dual polyurethane rollers that gently pinch your old tires off your cheap Miata daisies or expensive Volk race wheels without so much as a scuff mark, and you have an extremely affordable way to use cheap take off race tires, or mount your extreme high performance rubber that you find anywhere you want. There is no shop fee, there is no disposal fee. However, certain tires take a much longer time to mount, and I may charge an extra $10 for that set if that is the case. The standard tires I know people run at autocrosses do not fall into this category. Essentially, if you have an extremely low profile tire, you should probably get with me first to confirm pricing prior to drop off. Nervous about someone else touching your stuff? Me too. Provided my schedule meets your's precisely, hang out and watch while I do it. This is an enthusiast service, for enthusiasts, BY an enthusiast. This is for members of FAST only!
