FAST Monday - 12/14 @ Surf Shack

Postby Loren » Fri Dec 11, 2015 11:07 am

Back at Surf Shack for another FAST Monday. Maybe we can start analyzing the FAST Relay course while we look back on another year of Autocross? Oh, and Ben can fill us in on his executive meeting with the POTUS.

Who's, in??

We'll be on the patio from about 6:30-9pm or later.

Well, okay. But, be sure to keep good notes. We expect a full report.

Who's coming out this Monday? Philip's working. Ben's in DC.

I'm in the maybe column leaning leaning to yes; only reservation is an o'dark hundred start for work tomorrow - might be down and out early.

I'll be there by 6:30. Can be earlier if anyone is interested. I'll be driving by there about 5:30-6:00, going home and then returning. (I know it's silly, but it gives me an excuse to drive my new truck)

You can drive the truck, but you can't "drive" the truck. I'm still working on the tuning. It's not ready for prime time.

I made major strides with the timing table and improved drivablity, though. There's that.

Yeah. I'm sure their trying to stay profitable. Not always easy.

Cliff's notes on the menu:
They dropped pork from the menu entirly.
Added a few more seafood items.
Reworked some things (like the taco salad now doesn't come in a tortilla shell).
And (the sneaky part), a lot of things now have upcharges for add-ons... like meat in the Mongolian bowl.

I was still very pleased with the behavior of my truck on the way home. It's amazing what (closer to) proper ignition timing can do for an engine. The OBD app even calculated that I averaged 18 mpg on the way home. I don't trust it much yet, as it is unverified... but, compared to the 11-12 it was averaging before, that's pretty darned good!

Food was good, had the California burger.

And tires... Do a burnout, do it, a big smokey burnout.

How do you do a taco salad without the shell?

It's derived from Mongolian barbeque...and meat is extra?!

Tampa Bay Brewing's new location is just up near Race Track and Tampa Rds...might even know someone who works there.

I'll have to cruise by there and see what the parking is like. Or, we could just go try it. It's not like we're often getting a huge Monday night crowd.
