Welcome back Kurtis and Steve, M3 is getting that old M2 vibe. And welcome back Gerry, you are up to your old ways.

Thanks man. It was great to have the red car up and running again, and I did my usual awesome job of overdriving. Coned 3 runs. Car ran great, though, and I still had a ton o' fun! You, on the other hand, along with Kurtis, were on fire! Nicely done, guys!
And thanks to everyone who contributed today and made for another marvelous FAST event. That first run group was a little frustrating, but I'm sure that won't happen, that way, again. At least, not in a good while (some coursework issues made for a particularly long run group). The bright side was we did 5 runs today instead of 4, and the afternoon ran like clockwork save one computer glitch.
Great mix of cars out today too! Really was diggin' on the AMX (didn't get a chance for a close look).
Hope everyone enjoyed themselves!

Pictures, not many of the morning because I was either course working or messing up a bunch of shot because autofocus wasn't working.

Great course, I had a blast. S4 was really tight. I figured out I was wimping out in the slalom again on my last run, wish I had figured that out about 3 runs sooner. Thanks to everyone in time that took my complaint regarding if the run was clean or not. I'm glad it was sorted out.

Whew! Great day!
That course was every bit as much fun the second time around (it was a redo of one from last April). Hope everyone else had as much fun with it as I did!
Thanks to the usual assortment of EVERYBODY for helping making it a great event!
Results are posted to the website, of course. There will be a change. The 2016 Miata in M2 was actually in S2. (we had already exported the results and shut the computer down before it was pointed out)
See y'all next time!

Absolutely a great course, had fun and after seeing my times increase all day, much thanks to both Ben and Steve for feedback. I was able to finally better my time to leave on a personal victory.

It's great to be back! I miss how fun it was. Great course, too; very much a chess-player's course, where you had to be a few moves ahead.
A+++, will autocross again.

A great event! The course was a lot more fun to drive than I expected from the course walk. It was definitely one where you needed to keep ahead of the course and pay attention to the slow parts to get a good time.
I finally felt like I have a better feel for both the car and driver’s abilities. I was happy to meet my goal of running in the 49s after my 51sec first run.
I brought my camera along and got some
pictures from the second run group in the morning. Feel free to use them at will (poor old Will, what did he do to deserve this?).
Hey, Autocross is educational too- I just taught myself how to use Flikr and make a fancy colored link to click on - never done either before so you learn stuff by being here!
Really enjoyed the day & looking forward to whenever I can make it out for more FAST fun.

We had a blast as always, and once again, thanks to all who make it happen. Thanks especially to Drew and Loren for the coaching. My apologies to the course workers at the first sweeper during the first afternoon run group for this:

I set a personal record for cone crushing this event, killing more cones than I've hit in the last five events combined. I also managed to spin twice in the same run, another personal milestone. I still managed a few clean runs that put me roughly in the middle of the pack both overall and in my class. That's a significant step up from where I started a year ago. If I can just remember to look farther ahead, I think I may be able to approach the faster times my car is capable of.

Great event again this month! Thanks to everyone who makes FAST so much fun race with. Special thanks go out to the Wilseys, your times really pushed me to get faster over my five runs.
Here's video of my 5th run, 45.454.

I've got someone's folding chair in the back of my truck. Will bring it to the next event. Unless I end up putting it in the garage. Then, who knows?

We also have a 5x3 inch flat vented cover, maybe from inside a fender. Says Subaru on it.

Considering Loren and I ran nearly identical mid/low 46s in one try, your car could have been well into the 45's. The car is good as is, you just have to work on finding it's capability.

Thanks for the usual excellent pix Phillip. Our daughter will never forget her first ever stick shift/wrong side driving autocross. Your pix will prove she actually did it!! No cones and on course in 2 runs was enough for her with 3 hours of sleep and jet lag.

Gerry is still winning on the used Hankooks I sold him from Shamu 3 years ago. Guess there's still some pixie dust left in them.

Tony you really manned up to get second away from Sam and the Datsun AWD this time.
I was able to get a practice 47.06 later with a passenger but just couldn't get my zags and zigs sorted out on return lane by myself.....damn tires squealed like pigs all the way home.
Congrats on getting some actual points again with a sticker!!

I had a good time as usual. Even with monkey wrenches thrown in, FAST is the best organized, smoothest running AX club par excellence.
My driving, not so much. I didn't drive the course I walked #whatsupwiththat?
Was behind, behind, behind and off the line in a couple of places
On the plus side:
I self-diagnosed my issues (getting them all fixed was another matter entirely)
and I got to take a noob for a ride; I stopped short of LOL when he was scrambling for somewhere to hold or brace as soon as we hit the slalom
perverse, but highly enjoyable nonetheless.
and I love my tires.
