Tyler Williams is a steely eyed auto-crosser, no one give him any more hints. Well Done! Todd Byram was on fire today, I only wish I had as much heat. Jamie Sculerati was bringing the heat too.
Interesting course layout today, great use of the available space. I enjoyed to ups and downs, but not the turn-arounds. I must really suck at turn-arounds.

Those stuck at home should get their butts out the event and take pictures.

Hey Philip, sorry to hear you weren't feeling well today, I worked the first run group and drove the third, but took some pictures of the second group. I will post them when I get a chance but it will be late today or tomorrow.
Dan.

Don't worry Joe, since you were in the second run group there will be pictures
And thanks for the ride-along!

I didn't want to distract any drivers with my loud coughs from the sidelines.

There were lots of fast people out there today; I was not one of them.
Here is... a run.

That turn around was so hard for me. I was about 1 run away from giving up and grabbing e brake to get around it lol. Managed a 37.9 by driving like a mad man on the rev limiter the rest of the way to make up for it, and after protest I got my stinkin' 1st place sticker.

That course was obviously designed by Miata people! TIGHT!!! And since that beautiful Porsche sound is too loud, I guess I'll be co-driving the Exocet with you guys til my own Exocet is complete.

Pure pandemonium! No cone was safe!

I wish someone had told me I was reading from the wrong results sheet before I was DONE handing out awards! I'm going to have to look and see how many people that affected later.
Meanwhile, the results have been posted on the website. For those who weren't there we did 9 runs, but only the first 6 were "official". So, you'll see a second results by class file that includes all 9 runs just for info. The actual awards were (should have been) given on the first 6 runs.
I wasn't sure how things would go using the back section of the parking lot, but it ended up being pretty cool to drive. Also ended up being a pretty "balanced" course. Not a power course, and not a "Miata course". Even the Cherokee SRT got through the course in respectable time without too much trouble... usually.
Thanks to everyone for pulling together to help a smaller event go off without a hitch!
And thanks to Steve for letting me drive his Miata, always fun!

I don't earn that title until I can win in Brooksville. I owe my success today to you, Loren, and Steve for all of the guidance y'all have given me; my car had way more grip with that extra 1/4 inch of height and preload, and I was able to push harder than I ever have.

This course was easily the best use of space at the dog track so far. Keep up the great work on the designs!

Pure pandemonium! No cone was safe!
Summary:
My car is still a fuel leaking car bomb waiting to go up in flames like the car-b-que that was burning on the interstate while awards were being presented. Devon and Doug graciously let me drive the Exocet today with fresh fat race tires. I ran a smashing good time but it took me 9 runs to do it cleanly, so it didn't count because Loren is a big meanie-head.
Loren co-drove with Steve, while Ben drove his own Miata, as the FASTiva is surely getting some kind of top secret modification. Matt did well in M2, but Ron couldn't bother himself to put his sticky tires on. The Camaro broke, and Dave needs to push harder.
The cones in general feared for their pointy little lives today. There were a couple of runs that were easier to count the cones still standing instead of the downed ones.
So, yeah, madness.
Hooray Todd!

Madness maybe, but I came in 13th overall and 4th in class. In MY class in MY car. I codrove with Loren today (yer welcome) and my codriver beat me. And I have a sunburn. Order is restored!!
Thanks everyone for making another FAST event go improbably well!

OK,
As mentioned above, here are the
pictures of the second run group. There are a lot of repeats since it was only a 12 car run group and multiple runs. I tried to get pictures of everyone from a few different angles, feel free to use them as you wish.

It would be easier to push harder if I sucked less

Thanks for leaving your Mustang at home today so the competition in M2 was a little more manageable.
Thanks to Jamie for letting me ride along a couple times. Jamie was at the top of his game today, and I had the opportunity to see what the racing line is supposed to look like.
The course was challenging to say the least. The green cone rule probably had me pushing less than I otherwise might have, and the hairpin turn was tricky. But it was fun, another well run Fast event.

Guess I called that. Makes me a Loren course "whisperer" or just a "gossip".

I have decided to set up a "daycare" for FAST autocrosses outside Brooksville. I will charge anyone needing said service 2 drives in their grocery getter while they watch the rug rats for a few minutes. That sounds fair? I was in a bad place today and it involved some shit other than just trash talk.

I was happy that I didn't step in it.
Hey. Drew is becoming Steve. Broken car leads to many quick rides

One of my cars is broken. I have ordered new rear shocks from California or Illinois...I forget where? It wasn't Amazon or Ebay. Was it LorenandBen.com? Yeah. That's it.
I could ask to share a car on April 9th? My alignment will be screwed too. Oh my.
But I have a "backup car". Of course all my cars can "back up"....DOH. So I have 4 "Backup" cars. None of them are doing all that well in FAST in any class lately. I'm going to have to "forward" them in the future? Spam you all.
Steve actually sucks at autocross but he's a great schmoozer in getting us sites so we let him beat us. Hint hint. DONT BEAT STEVE. GIVE HIM $10 and buy his daughters cookies.
Loren used to be a way cool. Like almost "that guy" or maybe even Mustang Sally "Drew" who is actually pretty fun guy. Or is that a fungai? You decide. Both of them kind of grow on you. Actually all three of them kind of grow on you.
Thursday is Queer's Day if you wear green where I come from. BUT we only race on Sat or Sun so even that's not an issue. Wear whatever you want. If you wear Hawaiian shirts you are either Steve, Loren or Drew. Shake that thing.
I have a whole closet full of Hawaiian Shirts. That is the secret to being a broken car wizard. Wear a Hawaiian Shirt and "kick ass". You will never need a "back up" car again.
April 9th. Hawaiian Shirt = Sticker
I have had a reading.
