Ready to kick off a new FAST Championship season? Of course, you are!

Registration & Event Info

This is the first Open event we've had since the last time we were at Tampa Bay Downs at the beginning of July. That means lots of itchy newbs! Better register early.

Basic event details:
  • This is a FAST Open autocross, that means that it is open to all licensed drivers.
  • Novices and first-timers are encouraged to enter!
  • Pre-registration is REQUIRED for all Drivers AND Guests. We can't let you in the gate if you're not registered.
  • Driver entry fee is $38.50, guest entry fee is $7.
  • This will be a split-format event. You can enter the Early session 8am-12pm or the Late Session 12pm-5pm, or both.
  • Snacks and cold beverages will be provided for all registered drivers and guests.

THIS is the first POINTS event of the season. I'm letting a better "more intensive" driver take me on for motivation.
What are you doing to improve? Staying home?

We're adding reliability, lightness and wider tires to the mighty FASTiva. I have two talented co-drivers AND Soroya to challenge me. I'm ready to be better. I have to be better. This will not be an easy season for the FASTiva in M4!

I have transcended the puny Miatae in M2 and moved on to M0 to take on the mighty Ford Cobra. Well, replica Cobra; which is really a corvette with the body of a British roadster. Replica body, made of glued together sawdust or something. Sounds cool, though.

That's perfect, Drew. Your Mustang isn't really a Mustang, either. It's just a pile of aftermarket suspension parts held together by hopes, dreams and rust! But, Mike's gonna have to step up his game! I heard he's got a new engine going into his car, though.

Signed up, looking to get my first sticker this season. Ordered some new wheels and tires, hopefully I'll have them in time.

It is a craftsman curated, artisanal collection of amalgamated awesome.
It's not a pile.
The surface rust is for aerodynamics. It's like the dimples in a golf ball.
Do you even science, bro?

I really should fix my clutch before this event, can't let Jamie get an early jump again. Still can't wait!

I thought the rust was for adding lightness, learn something new everyday.

That's funny, I thought it was a Mustang under there... oh the irony!

Drew it is so cool that you are going to mess with the top of the food chain no matter how hard they try to send you to Darwinian algae. :thumbwink:
There was a collective barometric drop from M2's sigh of relief just now. There are no slow Mustangs/Cobra's ONLY slow learners.

Ha - dimples...that's practically from the age of wire bracing and fabric-covered wings. Research over the last 25-30 years has been looking at texturing the surface like fish scales to reduce drag. Think of the possibilities with a little paint. Just don't make it look like a fish, lest you have a pelican chasing you.

Well now, Drew has moved to M0, I have moved to S1 and David L has moved to another S class. So M2 really is up for grabs, let's see if anyone can dominate after the first 3 events. If your in M2 you really don't want to miss this one.

Wow - depending if I'm an optimist or a pessimist on some other car's progress, I could be a shoe-in for something like 3rd...

wink wink.

Iron plus oxygen = iron oxide, heavier than steel. Rust holes, definitely lighter than either rust or steel.

I'm registered. See you at Brooksville!
