Oh my gosh, can you believe that traffic on 275? Two hours to get home. Oh yeah, the racing was awesome. Except for the part where I got bumped out of overall first place before lunch. :notworthy: Congrats to Jason and Tyler for keeping that Fastiva out of the trophies.

And those afternoon run times, wow. I am glad the morning crew could clean the course for you afternoon guys. Maybe you could post times without mixing in the fun runs?

First I'd like to thank all those in the morning session of S2 for cleaning off the course of sand and water so Jake and I could have the two top trophy spots to ourselves. Pretty sure I've never beaten Jake but had I stayed clean my last run at least I would have been within 1/2 a second of him. Oops. I brought the right torqueless car for this event.

The course was a fast learning curve for sure even in the late afternoon runs. Easy to get into the gravel looking for that extra bit of speed. I got red flagged for Drew looking for that extra .001 with his clean up on aisle 6 attempt:)

I found a lot of people surprised me today coming up with some fast clean runs repeatedly and taking their classes or at least getting into the top 3. Many classes were large so ending up in the top 3 was super hard to do.

Just look at that overall time sheet and see the spread. A lot of people on the same second.

Thanks everyone for another fun day. Hope you all had as much fun as we did even if you didn't get a sticker.

Doug

Jake hasn't autoXed in 7 months and hadn't used those tires in 12 months. - I think he did alright. ;)

Yes, some very close times. Was a fun course once I learned to brake just before the sand dunes.

It really stings to not ftd especially for a morning session but damn my buddy Chris was on it in his 993. Good job to him. Not to mention a damn close 3rd place overall from Dan in Rons car, that's a hell of a run.

Great job to everyone, I enjoyed staying inside shelter doing timing again... it's still too hot for me out there, can't wait for cooler weather.

After looking at the video footage I was simply out driven in S4 today, I was very lucky to get 2nd considering how much I over drove the car. Pictures coming tonight I think!

May be the last time anyone will see Crusty Blue for a while. When I got home I went under hood to see what that hissing noise was emanating from. Coolant spitting out of a cylinder head where no water should ever come out. Haven't pulled anything apart, but I think I have a crack through to the water jacket. Stock cast iron heads which are pretty cheap to replace.
Looks like the old man is going to need a little work on the ticker.

Jake and I go way back. My tires are now 4 years old BUT NOS. He couldn't resist the challenge. Nor could I. Names taken asses kicked. Nothing has changed. He still beat me.

So I happened to catch dan's splash down in the lake on my GO Pro. It's pretty funny. YouTube isn't working but I'll post it up soon.

Wow Drew, that sucks. I guess it's an unexpected incentive to get the Mazdaspeed up and running. :whip:

Drew mentioned once he is tired of fixing Crusty Blue after the tree fell on it twice. I sold my bike due to tired of fixing it last year. Time to move on?

I might make him an offer he cannot refuse? Outlandish tho' it may seem. Drew can win MO in most anything I own as they sit. 'Cause he's frickin' Drew.

Great Dave! I'm glad someone caught my craziness on camera  While the entire run was a disaster, is it wrong to say it was the most fun? Cones, water and a great big slide all in one run. You didn't know my work assignment was entertainment?

John makes me laugh so hard. Go John. .005 seconds at a time. (Ron, for Pete's sake stop letting "hardtop man" Dan co-drive the current winner's old car.)

Next thing I know you'll be letting me tutor you in a Vette. Big Man in a Big car...."hauls a lot of ass....promptly." Last time I checked I did 242 on the Publix scale and I won a prize. BOGO. Oh shit. Now there's two of us. Can you deal with that?

Now that I've had dinner, a nap, a shower, and a slice of pie...

What a great event! If we end up not running there again (as is the current prediction), it was a good way to go out.

I really enjoyed driving the course, even though it ended up being a bit of a "power course", and I have none. I also handicapped myself by running in the first run group... but, Joe Vance did, too... and he won the class handily.

Anyway, thanks to the usual cast of characters for helping this event run smoothly from start to finish!

Lorenski. You gained 20LB with those fat tires. Returned 5hp with your cobbled FI. DOH. You have 6" of rear toe in with those fat tires. What can I say? Joe is "back". He and wife will ultimately rule in two classes. Give them time.

Don't mess with the Vances. Mess with the non-existant PAX. I have a coupon for Target if you need another one of those stickers.

Pretty happy with the run I put together today. My engineers have been working hard on the car and we brought some big upgrades to the event today and it showed. I checked the tire pressures for the first time in 2 months, and increased the oil level from "probably enough" to "maybe a little too much." Oh and added some new stickers.

I think my real advantage was being at station 3 and watching 180 runs go through the loopdy loop... Getting that line right and keeping it pinned through the finish kink were the keys today.

Sad to hear we might not go back. It's always a nice change of pace from Brooksville.

Also praise Jeebus for working AC and Google Maps rerouting. Made it home in just over an hour and didn't get heat stroke!
