Well it was a beautiful day for sure.
Personally I didn't perform well on this course and got slower every single run no matter what I tried. Appears Philip and Jamie had similar issues with this one. So congrats to the 2 S2 guys who finished tops Jason 4th and Gerry 5th OA in the standings which is amazing actually. Also congrats to the Bess father/son and Doug B for all beating me today in S2. Worst finish of the season for me I think. I know where the 3 seconds were just couldn't do anything about it. Since a bunch of afternoon people didn't show up (traffic jam?) the afternoon went by way too fast between runs. Yikes. Just enough time to check the air in the tires - which didn't help at all as it turns out.
Eva had to listen all the way home to silent gloating from the other Doug!!
The results are posted and have been for ages. Ultra Congrats to Joe Brannon for his FTD.
Sorry to hear the noise coming from the Fastiva again. Poor Ben. They work so hard on that Korean Ford thing. Ended up the the S Korean President today. Shit out of options.
Hope all the newbies enjoyed themselves and come back for more punishment.
I'll be back.
Doug

Thanks Doug. I felt that run was fast but didn't know it was THAT fast. Maybe this course favored awd?
Here is that run. Was my 2nd run of the day.

You did ALL three elements with major balls. Memo to self: Watch out how many people you trash talk for "some" events

Also go crack windshield.

Damn. I forgot it was time change clocks ahead until I saw my times.

When I came home I moved all my clocks back then realized my error and had to do it all over again moving them ahead.
It was still a great day to be with 1/2 of you. AND I still finished in my usual top 1/3rd of everyone.

That was a fun one! It was definitely a CLOSE battle with Jason. That's some good competition! I wish I had video; I forgot to charge my camera. Oh well.

Great event, folks! Thanks for coming out to play!

Nah, we had wide variety of got-sick/no-show/couldn't-run/had-to-leave problems today. Total of 10 late-cancel/no-shows. Two were sick yesterday. One broken car yesterday. Two out with a bad tire (failed tech). One had to leave the event for some reason. Possibly one stuck in traffic. And three random no-shows.
Unfortunately, 8 of those 10 were in the Late Session, and most of them were unexpected. We muddled through, but we were definitely short-handed.

My best run, looking at the videos posted so far it seems I was just not pushing the chicago box and not super late but a little late all over compared to Joe.

Phillip gets some credit for my success today. Did the course walk with him and he gave me a lot of advise on how to approach several sections that worked out great.
MANY thanks

Finally felt like I pushed the car today. Might have been a high 32 out there but I'll take 3rd overall. was way more aggressive with the car and it seamed to like it.

Drew is right. I strayed from the path. I'm sure it cost me at least 2 seconds.

Well... I forgot to turn off my traction control on the forth run... halfway through my throttle started going dead and I thought my fuel pump or something was broken! I was about to cry until I pulled into the grid and realized my mistake. [emoji856]

This was definitely a fun course with lots of challenges. The wall of cones with no pointer cones that funneled you into the slalom before the turnaround was interesting and the Chicago Box was fun too. How about a Key West Box in a future course?
Below are a few of my GoPro videos for your viewing entertainment...they are just like the other ones posted only slower and with a spin! I really enjoy these events...thanks to the organizers and other participants who make these so much fun.

Key West box is the one with basically two gates and a random cone in the middle, right? We do that occasionally. Pretty sure we've done it at an event within the past couple months. I remember using a green cone for the center so that it would stand out.
They're all just variations of a slalom, anyway.

The funnal wall slalom thing before the turnaround sucked in quite a few novices. Great design, in that it looks like it's somewhere you can speed up, but it's really where you slowdown.

It did not just suck in the novices, I worked that station as captain and saw numerous veterans go way to fast there and mow cones or DNF. Would have been a great place to get some video for a bloopers reel.
