I need to buy new tires, but I want to use my tires until it fully dies. Here is a photo of my thread potenza re050a with 37k miles on them.

Will it pass the inspection for the upcoming event or will I have to buy new tires beforehand?

If the entire tire looks like the part we can see in the pics, those tires should be fine. ( they don't look unsafe from the pics)

One of the things you should have already read on the FAST website:
http://drivefast.org/wp/Misc/FAST_Safety_Checklist.pdf
TIRES - Check the tires for cord. Visible tread grooves are not required. The tires can be bald, but if there's a hint of
anything that's not rubber showing, those tires are done! Check tires for dry-rot or cracking. If the tires are old and
obviously weathered, the sidewalls can literally disintegrate under hard cornering!
That's it. That's all we're looking for.

Those tires have an entire season of tread left.
Whether or not they still have like new grip is up to you. Often tires will heat cycle out and become less than ideal long before the tread wears out.
If you would like me to drive the snot out of your car and give you a tire evaluation, I will squeeze it into my busy schedule. I am a giver like that.
