Small event. Only 32 registered, and then 3 canceled the day before, and 2 no-showed. Ugh.
But, we made the most of it. Got in TEN runs each (the first 8 were "official"), plus as much skidpad time as you wanted.
Thanks for chipping in and making this one work, I know it wasn't easy!
Results are up.

I don't think it could have gotten any better. Laid back, lots of runs, cool friends and good cupcakes. Clutch kit is ordered, Joe B is going to help with the install at his place.

Here's my video of run #2 in the Mirage. (I only took two runs in it)
I have external video (rear side window driver view) of this run, but I can't seem to get the videos to synch to do a proper picture in picture.
(irony: All the money I spend on a new camera... I did this video with my phone camera)

Heh. Listen to the end of the video. You'll hear me mutter "alright" as I'm pulling into grid. That's me deciding to move the car to M4.

Haven't finished fiddling with video and telemetry yet, but here's one I did on the skidpad just to see what I got, a few minutes after my 8th run. Sawing at the wheel a bit much in both directions, and could stand to get closer to the cones going clockwise, but did a fairly decent job of keeping a consistent, on-the-limit circle, I think.

You need to put the G number up there with the crosshairs. One thing I liked about RaceRender, it does let you do things like that.

Here's an outside view of Philipp running a 47.7 in my car, his second attempt with me riding along was a 47.2. Surface definitely has grip.

Good point...I just threw that together in a few minutes after I got home to see how it all worked. From the data file, I was pulling about 1.12gs, plus or minus 0.05...reasonable consistency. Would really like to get the steering angle, but that's not something the OBD reader puts out.
I've been looking at the Race Chrono tutorials -- terrible! -- but it looks like it might do segment times easier than Track Addict, although I can manually work out segment comparisons from the data table and video. And I may be misreading it, but it reads like Race Chrono only works on the phone...I like being able to dump everything to the laptop. Just have to play around with them.

Yeah, RaceChrono is pretty much "tinker and figure it out" software. Philip is pretty familiar with the data analysys side of it, though. And, yes, it's a phone app only.

You probably already know this, but you can export the RaceChrono data via email to your PC and play with the data on your PC with Racerender instead of just on your phone. If you really want to geeky you can manipulate the data set that RaceChrono sends to your email as a text file. Again it is not user friendly and takes a while to figure out so don't delete the data files on your phone until you have them on your PC in usable form.

I'd have to agree with Joe, here. Grid was a little hectic at times, but yeah, the trade-off was a good deal of seat time.
Very much appreciate everyone's help - it's even more important with a small group, and y'all got together and made it happen! Well done!
I got runs in Bill's VW, which is now nice and loose (maybe a little too much, as I thunk about it), and Dan's Mazda3, which he's got set up very nicely. Not that it makes a huge matter for anyone, but in the results, only my first 4 runs count M4 in-class. Birthday-girl-Sarah took 2nd. My 5th and 6th were in S4, so they don't count. My 7th and 8th runs weren't even me...

I didn't "know", but sort of assumed that it was text data that could be exported and manipulated. Was going to maybe play with that, too... but, then I accidentally deleted the data.

I heard that Dan Brentnall did a sort of impromptu "invitation only" IROC in his Mazda 3. (The Mayor is out of the country, so somebody has to do these things) Not sure who all the players were. I think it was Dan, Ben, Steve, Philip and me. Maybe more?
This mostly happened on 9th and 10th runs, which don't show in the results, so I don't know what the times were. I think Dan was documenting them.
Of course, I'm only mentioning this because I got in a "hero" run and beat Philip.

I had a great time. Never dreamed of spinning that wagon.
Found the course very challenging compared to the previous open event. Car was a handful and told me when to suck less.

It was impromptu, and quite unofficial. And good fun! Yes, Loren, Philip, Steve, Ben, and Dan. In order of finish... (sorry, Dan, at least you didn't end up losing any money...

And a glorious spin, it was!

Yes, and in retrospect, and after having driven Dan's 3, the wagon may be a tad bit looser than good-that-comes-from-it. But let's give it one more "spin" to really shake it out.
