Registration & Event Info

Basic event details:

• This is a FAST Open autocross, that means that it is open to all licensed drivers.
• Novices and first-timers are encouraged to enter!
• Pre-registration is REQUIRED for all Drivers AND Guests. We can't let you in the gate if you're not registered.
• Driver entry fee is $39.99, guest entry fee is $7.99.
• This will be a split-format event. You can enter the Early session 8am-12pm or the Late Session 12pm-5pm, or both.
• Snacks and cold beverages will be provided for all registered drivers and guests.

Early Session is already filling up quickly. If you want to run early, better jump on it!

Nope, my car tops out at 59 mph at the airport.

Oof that pinch after the turn around. That's going to be fun.

We've run this course before, it's a good'n.

Whoa flashback! This was my first autocross course from last year. Got dead last it will be nice to see what the improvement has been!

WHOA! let me see the top finishers get a sticker, telling them they are the top finishers. that definitely puts a competitive spin on the event. But it is something that we do and as such should try to do well and to improve. Except for the very serious issue of safety, seems that the rest of the time is with like minded, car people who enjoy a driving challenge and some fun. I even try having fun with the drivers while working the grid.

Then again, i know some golfers who are playing for nada and are very serious chasing a little white ball around a big lawn with sand and holes in it in a vehicle that is lucky to go 20mph. the only time there heart rate is elevated is when they see a gator.

There is the 400ft+ straightaway which we can hit at 30mph start. even my poor pony may get to over sixty before I spin out on the turnaround. If i can only remember to turn on the GPS, I can find out.
BTW, Joe if you are available, I would love to have a first class driver try my mustang to get a real baseline and your opinion of what changes are needed? contemplating a few for the fall.

The person to talk to about improving your car is Brian Meyers, he usually runs with the SCCA group but does run with FAST on occasion. I will be happy to do an instructor run in your car at the next event if it can be arranged. Most likely, other than driver and tires, the first thing to do is a front sway bar.

Within FAST, Drew is the Mustang whisperer. And Nate's beeing doing a pretty good job of figuring his out, as well.

But, if you just want a quick "how am I doing as a driver" baseline, any of the usual suspects could give you a reasonable target time.

Driver should be required to be texting or talking on a cell phone.

We have to dodge those drivers every day. We come to autocross to escape it!

Don't forget about taking selfies, eating, and shaving and/or putting on makeup.

I make it a rule to only apply makeup when driving [emoji4]

Registration extended to Tuesday night to help out the holiday travelers who may have forgotten to register. There's still room in the Late Session.

I haven’t driven at an autocross for years. Can someone relearn me to drive? Also, I really do promise that I’ll try to keep the car out of the dirt stuff. It’s still strange to me that you folks don’t have any surface transitions with all that field space available.
