Last event of the season, you don't want to miss it! (But, don't worry, we've still got an event in August, and the new season starts in September!)

Looks like this could be another weekend where this is the only autocross in Central Florida. Please register early. Y'all know we can't do anything for you once the event is sold out!

Registration & Event Info

Basic event details:
  • This is a FAST Open autocross, that means that it is open to all licensed drivers.
  • Novices and first-timers are encouraged to enter!
  • Pre-registration is REQUIRED for all Drivers AND Guests. We can't let you in the gate if you're not registered.
  • Driver entry fee is $39.99, guest entry fee is $7.99.
  • This will be a split-format event. You can enter the Early session 8am-12pm or the Late Session 12:30pm-5pm, or both.
  • Snacks and cold beverages will be provided for all registered drivers and guests.

Link is wrong, and don't we have another event that needs a forum post?

Link is not wrong, it's exactly what I wanted it to be! It will now never take you to the wrong event because it takes you to the event list! This way, I can just leave it the same every time. You'll notice I did the same thing with the course map link on the Entry List page... I'm just cutting down on the things that I have to remember to change for every event.

Yeah, I guess I didn't do a post for the 14th yet. It happens.

I'll be bringing something a little different to this event to challenge S4... 200hp, 6-speed, and nice wide tires... :snicker:

A newish Civic? There's nothing like that in ES, and the Turbo Fiesta in HS doesn't exactly sport "wide" tires.

But wait much longer to sign up, and you'll be running in the rain with the hard-core afternoon crowd.

I hope it rains in the morning and is dry in the afternoon. I'm evil like that.

I've been hoping that for that since May...hasn't happened yet!

Ditto.. Of course I've signed up for the double this time so it will almost certainly rain all day. At least it will be a level playing field for once.

I'm good with that...I'd do well if everyone ran in the rain.

Must be a Ford Focus turbo or an ugly newer Civic. Jason doesn't buy new stuff. But he is a kickass driver with RWD. FWD?

Hey, I buy new stuff! Just not very often. :D

Sadly it turns out I have to work all weekend and can't make the event. :(

I was going to bring out the Accord just for laughs... The NA 2.4L makes about 200hp if you put 93 in it... 6-speed manual... Mine has 215s on it (wide for S4!) but some trims came with 235s standard.

And the V6 is around 300hp now.

Early Session is sold out. Plenty of room in the Late Session. :thumbwink:

I've been avoiding doing any social media advertising on this one because I want to be sure all the regulars can get in for the last points event. But, if the Late Session is still thin come Monday, I might start pushing it.

Yeah, I always have mixed feelings on that. On one hand, we've got big fish coming into our pond and making waves, messing up the natural order of things. But, on the other hand... if you're a leader in your class... you should be right there with them.

Our current points system should help make that less of an issue than it used to be. Points used to be 9-6-4 for the top positions. Now they are 10-8-7. The only position that gets more than one point over the position below them is first place. The difference between 1st and 3rd is only 3 points... where it was 5 points before. So, the wildcard driver that steals first place makes a little less difference overall.

I signed up late session, and found out today that the Griswold Racing VW isn't going to be available. So I'll be looking to bum a ride if anyone is interested?

Think of it as evolution in action...either of the fish or the pond.
