Time to start autocrossing again, M1 BMW Z3. Trying to decide between Rival 1.5 and Bridgestone RE-71R. No street driving (second set), car has camber plates so plenty of camber. I'll water spray between runs, but wondering if one or the other is more heat tolerant.

Performance-wise, both are going to be very similar. If one has an edge, which one it is will be subject to who you ask.
Haven't heard complaints about either of them having significant heat problems. That might be why nobody's replied yet.

According to Grassroot Motorsports tire tests, the RE-71R is slightly less heat tolerant, but from my own experience, that's nothing a spray bottle can't handle. The big difference between the two is the Rival can be slid around a bit more, and it doesn't "talk back" as much. I've gotten similar wear out of both (was on Rival S two years ago, 'Stones last year, Rival S 1.5 this year), and sharing the car hasn't been a big issue.
It'll be good to see you guys back.
