It's the August Classic! This will be our only autocross for the month. It's gonna be hot, but it'll be a good time. And maybe it'll keep your autocross-jones under control between July and September?

This is a Classic event, which means fewer entries, more runs and no formal novice instruction. We do require all entrants to have competed in at least 5 prior autocross events so that they sort of know what they're doing (or enlist an experienced sponsor).

We'll be providing lunch for all registered drivers and guests at this event.

Registration is open until August 6. You know what to do, and you know to do it early.

This event is at Brooksville, so pre-registration is required for ALL drivers and guests.

This one is on a Sunday.

Between travel and work looks like I will have to aim for September to test out the new cockroach feet on the Brooksville concrete. And maybe a Stage II cam...

I expanded registration from 48 to 51 drivers. (3 groups of 17, awesome) So, there are now 4 openings left. You know what to do.

And here's the course map. This was based on the early December course from last year, it's mostly just longer. The goal was to try to get a minute out of it.

looks like a fun course, one suggestion the 4 cone slalom at station 3: should there be pointer cones at the start!

Reviewed the classing guidelines, looks like my pitiful four banger should be in M1 class!!

not a problem, I am such a masterful driver, I can finish last in either class.

Feel free to drive it the opposite way. It probably won't be slow and painful at all.

With the gate and no pointer cone that typically makes the slalom optional, you can go either way. With more runway width and a more devious course designer the gate would be moved to the right complicating your decision.

Sometimes an optional slalom is truly optional and it doesn't matter which way you take it. Such is not the case with this one. But, we're not going to DNF you for driving it wrong.

I think its only fair if drew takes that slalom starting on the right.
