Stupid question right? I checked the county's website, but for the life of me I can not find the detailed information about registering a small kit built utility trailer. Someone here has done it before, what did Hillsborough county put you thru to get our new unregistered tire trailer tagged and registered? Do you have a link where the info is? Thanks.

Yes go to the tax collectors office. They will give you an affidavit to fill out for a home made trailer. I just did this. They are not available online. Fill it out. You will need a certified weight slip. (Get that first) from ether a truck stop or the local dump is a good place. They won’t ticket you for taking it to be weighed without a tag. then they will issue you a tag. If it under 2,000 lbs they only issue a registration no title.

Has to be registered...doesn't have to be insured.
