2019 Awards Picnic (SUNDAY, Aug 25) - Philippe Park - Shelter 7

Another FAST autocross season has been completed! All that's left to do is congratulate the winners, conspire for the coming season... and eat some good food! We normally do that with a potluck style picnic, and this year we'll be doing it at Philippe Park in Safety Harbor overlooking Tampa Bay.

We'll kick things off around 11am and "officially" wrap up around 2pm. But, we have the shelter rented for the whole day, so you're welcome to stick around and chat as long as you'd like!

In addition to the potluck stuff that you all bring, FAST will be providing the "main course" in the form of delicious catered-in BBQ. Good stuff! We'll also have plenty of drinks and ice. (no alcohol at the park, sorry)

To ensure that we have enough food, we do need to know how many to expect, and it's also helpful for us all to know what you may be bringing along. For those reasons, we've set up registration for the party. It's FREE! Bring something if you can. No sweat if you can't. We just need to know who's coming.

I'm planning on cornbread waffles. Cut into fourths for bite size addition to your BBQ plate. I'll bring some whole ones, because they make great BBQ sammich bread.

I'll be bringing whatever my wife decides to bake. (likely chocolate chip cookies, and maybe some sort of gluten free cookies)

Oh, and award shirts.

Gonna test waffle a gluten free batch this weekend to see how they turn out. If good, they will be Steve-safe.

Hey! Party is this weekend! 50 folks attending so far.

BBQ is happening. Would be cool if folks brought some excellent BBQ sides. Nobody is making such claims as of yet. Cole slaw, corn on the cob, mac & cheese, baked beans, collard greens, deviled eggs... y'all know the drill.

Mmmm... collard greens.

Just do it.
- this is a "pot luck" - contributed dishes traditionally are a mystery
- no two potato salads are equal
- we'll likely have over 50 attendees. No one person will bring enough potato salad.

Make that 65!

Cathy baked some amazingly good gluten-free goodies today. Not only that, but I talked her into cooking a mess o' collard greens. They smell SO good!

See y'all tomorrow!

Ran into Rydell Huff at Publix right after seeing Sally at the bank on Friday.
Didn't think to invite him to the shindig. Anyone got his number?

He has an Mr2 he is messing with, so we may see him sometime soon.
