Find some car that's not classed where you thought it was? Post it here!

I just ran across the Ford Mustang Ecoboost... I always plug muscle cars into S3 by default. The Ecoboost Mustang is in SCCA DS, which is FAST S2! Still in M2 if it's modified, though.

That may have been a change from last year that I just never noticed. Or maybe I knew about it and forgot?

Anyway, worth mentioning. I'm sure there are other cars that "should be a xx car", but aren't.

All 4cyl turbo AWD cars(I think all of em) are in D street now. So if I remember correctly, Subaru sti, golf R (2018 is b street), evos now are D street.

S2 actually has a lot of interesting cars in it. All we usually see in there is FRS/BRZ/WRX!

**If this is the incorrect place for this question, can Admins please let me know and I will move it**

Folks, it has been a few years or so since I have ran an event with your club, as I moved to TX but have recently moved back. I reviewed the class info on the main pages but would like to confirm what I found. My new weekend car will not import for another couple months yet so I thought I'd bring my "race wagon" daily out for some fun and a bit of seat time, it's been a while since I had time for an autocross.

2005 Subaru Outback XT 5mt (Should fit DS right since it's the same as a 05+ Legacy GT), but I have a built STI block, upgraded turbo, intercooler, boost controller, injectors etc etc, so it should fit in M2 or M1? I have Koni Yellows, Swift springs, and Whiteline bits on it too.

This big ole girl won't be competitive AT ALL, but I just want to come out for some fun and seat time. Thank you and I look forward to seeing some of you again. I used to have a white 06 STI with blue wheels before I moved, some may remember it.

Per the rules "A car will only be bumped up one class, bumping is not “stacked”. An engine swap AND adding a turbo would be a single class bump."
So with your mods, if you really were in M2 normally, then you would be bumped up to M1.

2005 Subaru Outback XT

Doesn't have a "stock" class because it's a tallish crossover kind of thing. You're claiming D Street, which seems reasonable. I'd be more generous and call it G Street. Moderate power, a little bit heavy, also a little bit sporty. But, not as "sporty" as D Street.

You've lowered it, which takes care of the "tall" problem, and places it into FAST Modified. GS = M3.

We can look at bumping in two ways.

First is the engine swap. You've swapped what was a 250hp stock engine for a 300hp stock engine. The rule is that if it's more than 25% more power, you bump up. You're under that, so if you'd JUST changed the engine, you'd be okay to stay in M3.

Next is the turbo system. You've upgraded all of the turbo system beyond the allowances, and that bumps you up to M2.

M2 seems like a reasonable place for that car.

If you really want to claim DS as your base class, then you'd start in M2 and bump up to M1. That's fine, too.

And if you're not worried about competition in this car, you could just run FN.
