Gonna try to come up with an extended course design for this one using that long stretch of pavement between the poles for a little burst of speed. Also gonna have a "Plan B" and NOT do that if it's raining.

This is a Classic event, which means fewer entries, more runs and no formal novice instruction. We're allowing "some" novices and even a couple first-timers at Classic events now, but in very limited numbers. If you're one of those people, you might want to register earlier than usual.

We'll be providing lunch for all registered drivers and guests at this event.

Registration is open until January 22nd, but could be filled before then. Y'all know what to do.

This event is at Venice, which is another restricted airport site, so pre-registration is required for ALL drivers and guests.

This might be one of those events where the Bluesight won't really work. It'll probably take at least 44 folks in two groups or pretty much anything over 36 if there are 3 groups (then I split runs between 2 of the groups). So I'll be looking for a backup co-drive just in case. I could provide the wheels/tires for anything that can take 15", 4X100 wheels (Miatas to 2005, lots of Hondas/Acuras, maybe others). 205-50-15 RE71R. Tnx...Mike

Decision time...it looks like it will be good weather, so it'd be nice to attend. With a limited # of participants, the Insight would likely need to skip some number of runs (charging and cooling), whether it's broken into 2 groups (maybe <15/group) or 3 (maybe <10/group). Any specifics on plans? Haven't pushed too hard on a co-drive, but that would be the nice option. Maybe swapping cars would be fun.

Any progress on theeeee maaaaap?

Mike

Definitely not enough entries as of right now to do more than 2 groups. You can take runs in my car... unless I end up towing the trailer with my truck, in which case I'll also be bumming a ride.

The map is just waiting on my lazy ass to post it.

Hint. Your Registration button took me to a very weird place. The above works.

Yeah, I heard about the busted link in the email. They changed something and what used to work no longer works. I'll fix it for the next email. And I just fixed it above.

It's "motorsportreg", not "motorsportsreg". I've been typing it wrong for YEARS, and it always worked before... now it doesn't.

Gotta go to see the Tesla...The Tesla Performance model that took best time in SCCA Nationals in BS...now relegated to SS...(SCCA doesn't like electrics much)...

PS...worth the price of admission to get a demo! Still have a few minutes to sign up...

You know you set up a Tesla 3 Performance course...0-60 in ~3sec and 114mph in the quarter. That 400' straight is looking pretty exciting...to watch...and especially to drive...

So, possible to see it at 60MPH in less than 130' (and close to 1G)..we'll see where it ends up from there to 400'...whoopie!

As long as he's not trying to let the car drive itself.

Is this looking like a 35sec+ course? Also, maybe 1 car on course at a time? About 15 cars/heat, so maybe around 7 minutes between runs? Perhaps the Insight will actually work. But, if it's not a necessity, swapping cars still sounds like fun!

Should be a 40-45 second course. Definitely mostly one car. Two run groups of about 13 cars.

And I'm towing with my S10, so no Miata.
