Groj Fabrication Day - Feb 8

Postby Loren » Fri Feb 07, 2020 12:29 am

Wife is going to Orlando for yet another play with her sister. (I don't ask questions... just happy she's not making me go!) No autocross to go to. Still plenty of stuff to do on the car(s).

I need to do some fabrication (see below). And, of course, I've got plenty of space if anyone has other simple projects or maintenance to do.

So, come help keep me motivated! Come work on your own stuff. Come learn stuff. Come hang out. Come help me eat lunch (the most important meal of the day).

Who: Me. You? Whomever.
What: Wrenching on various cars, doing some simple fabrication. You know, groj stuff.
Where: Loren's place in Safety Harbor (PM me if you need the address)
When: Saturday, Feb 8, 10am-4pm.
Why: Well, it's not nearly as much fun if I pay a shop to do it!

On my list of things to possibly do:
Find/modify/create/install hard top brackets for the Miata. (I have a set that I bought, but the rear ones were unimpressive... I'll fab those, and hopefully find the fronts)
Create fan shroud, mounting and wiring for replacement Spal fan.
Modify spare tire hold-down bolt with tabs (like a wing nut) so that it doesn't require a wrench.
Maybe create a brake master cylinder brace. (Steve says that's the best Miata mod ever)
Swap front springs on the Mirage.
Realign the Mirage front suspension.
Do some Megasquirt tuning on the S10.
Find some stickers to put on my new SA2015 helmet. I've got some somewhere.

I'm sure there's more, but that's my short list.

Who's coming? What else do we have to work on?

Push Harder - Drive as close to the limit of your tires as possible.
Suck Less - Drive something resembling a proper racing line.
