SO, did anyone packing the trailer last weekend happen to notice what we had left in the way of water and soda?

About 1 1/2 coolers with loose cans of Pepsi, Sprite, Mt Dew, and Coke -- seemed to me to be lots of Pepsi and Mt Dew left, less of Sprite and Coke, but I didn't count them. An unused case (24 cans) of Diet Coke. An unused half-case (12 cans) of Diet Dr Pepper. A few loose bottles of water in the cooler, and two unused cases (28 bottles each) of water.

Two of the radios were said to be having problems -- better make sure we have batteries.

Thanks.
I'll take a look at the radios before next event.

I went back down to street tires so I can drive the car around and I know you guys reworked the structure since the last time I was on street tires. It looks like I'm supposed to be in E2... Miata, stock engine, suspension, and the blower. E1 would be springs, and then the E2 bump would be because of the blower right?

The modified first-gen Miata class is E2. The bump is for an engine swap resulting in a significant hp increase. The modified class rules no longer address blowers. If you want to bump anyway, it would be to E1.

Nice to hear you're going to make it back out!

Gotcha, E2 it is. I was thinking that E1 was the lowest, then E3 was the highest. I guess I was backwards. See you soon.

Not quite right, Steve:
http://wedrivefast.com/AboutOurEvents/R" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... fault.aspx

He's in E2 because of suspension and fuel system mods. CSP=E2.

Adding forced induction bumps him up a class to E1. He gets to play with Ron and his Mazdaspeed... as it should be.

If a stock Miata is in G, alternate fuel ratio adjustment (Megasquirt), and the suspension would put me at E3, then the blower would move me to E2. Am I missing something? The way the rules are reading on the site describe those modifications are unlimited, and once the car is modified, any of the modifications are legal. However, the only one that would require a bump would be forced induction, and that would bump me from E3 to E2 right? If I'm missing something let me know and I'll go in and change my registration.

E3 is for SCCA DSP and FSP cars, which a Miata is not.

Anything that kicks you from production class in an NA Miata puts you in E2. Adding boost or a hardcore engine swap bump you to E1.

This really isn't that complicated.

My bad.

Yah, Carl, the forced induction IS a class bump, to E1. I managed to miss that line on the Classing page (so much for double-checking). Sorry to stoke the confusion.

Carl, I just got a "new" Miata NA, so you asked what I don't have to. I figured I'd just get the car set up right, tweak or mod it to generate copious amounts of fun and then just accept whatever class that puts me in.

Looking forward to flogging it at SPC! See ya then.

Chris, I'd sign up to get lunch, but I won't be bringing the wagon. So, timing, please.

Again this month the Flowers will be catering the lunch (for the 21st only, not for the novice class). Up this time will be pulled BBQ pork sandwiches, potato salad and baked beans. No word yet on chocolate chip cookies or similar.

Let the salivating commence!
