Yep, that's right, two full days of autocross bliss at the airport in B-ville, courtesy of your event chairs Ed C. and Loren.
The deets:

Saturday - regular points event. Come one, come all.
Sunday - Endurocross. For those not in the know, this is a multi-lap autocross. One car at a time. It's up to the event chair, but it's usually 4-6 laps for a total of 2-3 minutes per run. 3-4 runs per day. Because of the format, this event will have some limitations:
Entries are capped at 45.
First chance to enter will be for "Members" only - that means you must have done 4 or more events with us (and Saturday the 16th doesn't count) in the last year. If the Sunday event doesn't sell out, we'll open it up to any who have done 2 or more events - basically virgin novices will not be eligible.

What? You want to know the price? You can thank us later  :
either one day - the usual $30.
Both days for $50. (Yes, you read that right: 5-0)
World-famous FAST lunch included both days.
Guest lunches $5.

It's Brooksville, so you MUST preregister.

An, endurocross? Interesting. I might have to beat up the ole street tires for this one. Or should I find some used street tires to abuse on the race wheels. Hmmmmm....

As soon as Jamie gets registration open, he'll have an option for it. There are several ways he could do it, so I'll just wait and let him tell us how he did it.

An Endurocross is a different sort of thing if you've not done one. It's sort of like a track event in that you get more time on course... but it's NOTHING like a track event, because an autocross course is WAY tighter than any race track. Trust me, you and your car will be worn out after a couple 3-minute runs! Figure each run is equivalent to a full autocross, but there's no cool-down time for the car OR the driver.

Tires will cord, brake fluid will boil, radiators will spew... it'll be a good time! 8)

I'm with Eric...I don't think I want to beat up my new Kuhmo tires Sunday. I think I may run my old T1Rs into the ground!

The event does sound like a lot of fun!

Y'all just use the good tires.
That's what you bought them for...

Yeah I guess this is the equivalent of buying a new electronic device and leaving that ugly protective plastic on it to keep it looking good. Meanwhile the protective plastic makes it look like crap.

Or like my wife who buys a new handbag and then never uses it because she doesn’t want it to get dirty.

Humans are funny!

I believe this thread should be titled october 16th and october 17th, rather than 17th and 18th.

You might be onto something there.

I might try to find a way to bring the ole kumhos out to play one last time. I know my street tires won't be able to handle the abuse...otherwise I'd totally pound the hell out of them at this event. Still trying to find NEW tires first for the track wheels.

No might - he's right. Thanks!
I can't read a calendar.
It's been corrected.

I will happily run my daily driver/race tires into a stank pool of greasy rubber. Endurocross sounds like loads of fun!

Registration is open in a half hour!

To keep things from getting too complex, entrants may only use an event credit for one event over the weekend. Those wishing to do that, use the payment option for one event, but indicate "yes" on the entry form for both days and jot a note in the remarks so I can keep the numbers straight.

Saturday is full, but there's still 20-odd spots for Sunday. The event chairs have opened up Sunday to anyone who's run two FAST events. If you've already registered for Saturday and wish to change to both days, go to the entry list and edit your entry to change from "Saturday" to "Both", then send a note to info@wedrivefast.com. Bring the additional payment with you Sunday morning and pay the registration crew.

Jamie, a couple worker peculiarities for this weekend:

We won't need course tear-down for Saturday.

We won't need course setup for Sunday.

Probably barely need one person for tech Sunday, since almost everyone will be teched from Saturday.

Registration is open!

A reminder: Sunday is a "members only" event. If you're not sure if you're a member, go look at the season points from last season and see if you attended 4 events there, or 3 events there plus the last event. If you've done 4 events in a year, you're a member!

Also, I'm not sure how Jamie is handling this with the way he set up registration, but the entry limit for Sunday is 45 Drivers. To pull off an Enduro (we're talkin' 4+ minute runs, at least 8 minutes of seat time for every driver) means a fairly long day and limited entries, that's just the way it is.

Course drafts are being reviewed. Enduro rules will be posted along with the maps. Let's do this!
