Wonderful event, thanks Shon for a fast and fun course. Weather was almost perfect during the first run group, I think Doug placed first in G today. And I got to witness an awesome duel for the fastest time during the second group. :D Joe

Hey, somebody (Jamie? Steve?) email me the registration file so I can get the results data entered on the club's notebook computer that is conveniently located in my living room.

I hope everyone had a good time today, I know I did. I enjoyed chairing the event and now that I have my first one behind me, I will step up and volunteer more often.

Thank you to everyone that stayed around and helped clean up.

Loren -thanks for your help no the course design. I think it turned out great! Maybe we can try the lane change again sometime and offset it even further!

Bill Beers - you are the man! I really appreciate all the help you gave me with supplies. I knew I could count on ya!

Some of my videos turned out pretty good. I will share as soon as I get it edited down.

Thanks again everyone! See you in Feb!

Great event today guys. The weather was great and the course was fast.

Here's a couple videos:

First, my first and slowest run with a spin-out:

Sorry about that. :) If I ever have my car at an event you are welcome to put it in the grass anytime.

No worries. Heck, if I was worried about you putting it into the grass, I wouldn't have let you drive it in the first place.

Results are up!

Edit: Well, almost. Looks like I need to redo the "by Class" results to get everything on the page.

Okay, results are readable now. For some reason, it threw in a 5th column for times.

I think this was my best run, didn't get a time for it. Only one little mistake at the end.

I had fun. The event was run very well. My times sucked because my tires are tired and need to be retired, at least that would give me one less excuse.

Using my iPhone, and edited with Aperture, I took two somewhat narcissistic photos at an opportune time:

Thanks to who ever moved the trailer after the event. I got there at 10am this morning and there was an event going on.

As to the trailer light issues. I found a blown fuse in my truck. I replaced it and hooked up the trailer. The brake/signal lights worked fine, since they each are fused separately, however, when I turned on the parking lights the same fuse blew again. So, towing during the day if fine, just not at night when you want to use your lights.

I need to do some additional testing to see if it is a problem with my vehicle or the trailer. I am going to hook up a 12v battery with an inline 15amp fuse to see if I can recreate the problem. I think I have a 4-wire schematic for a trailer hook up, if not I think there is something on the inter-webs.

Anyone else have any suggestions? If I determine there is a problem we may need someone more familiar with this system or take it to a trailer repair shop. I think there is a good one on 66th, or something like that.

If your parking light fuse blows when you turn the parking lights on with the trailer connected, but not without the trailer connected, it's the trailer. Gotta be a short somewhere in the parking light circuit.

Ed, thanks for the trouble. Sorry you got caught with it... If in fact it seems to be the trailer, before we haul it to the shop, is there anyone out there with the skills, time and inclination to give it a look?

Greg - thanks for posting the pics - I wholly approve of your choice for the "cover" of the index!

And Jeremy - thanks for posting the vids, especially the one of your spin...my codriver was pleased to learn she wasn't the only one with an "off" that day!

Lance - those shots you caught are priceless! Excellent.

And as a general reminder for everyone:
It's our usual practice to keep children and pets very closely supervised. At SPC that means behind the guardrail at all times, and only with an adult/guardian if moving elsewhere. At B'ville, that would mean only on the edges of the runway where cars are parked. In neither place should they be roaming through or past an active grid. It's just so much safer...and also in keeping with our insurance which requires that spectators be a minimum of 100 feet from the active course and "pit area." Thanks for everyone's ongoing cooperation in keeping our events trouble-free.
